Why Socure?

Socure is building the identity trust infrastructure for the digital economy — verifying 100% of good identities in real time and stopping fraud before it starts. The mission is big, the problems are complex, and the impact is felt by businesses, governments, and millions of people every day.

We hire people who want that level of responsibility. People who move fast, think critically, act like owners, and care deeply about solving customer problems with precision. If you want predictability or narrow scope, this won’t be your place. If you want to help build the future of identity with a team that holds a high bar for itself — keep reading.

What the role is:

The Business Development Partner is the critical first point of contact for Socure prospects and customers. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate closely with Socure’s Sales Leadership, Account Executives and Marketing teams to identify key prospects, personas, and messaging. This role will drive pipeline, cultivate ongoing relationships, and be the face of Socure throughout the pre-sales cycle.

Who we are:

  • Socure is redefining identity verification with groundbreaking technology, supporting myriad organizations with the most accurate authentication tools in the industry.

  • What we build helps businesses scale faster, stop fraud, and ultimately allows millions of people who are excluded from the digital economy (due to outdated fraud detection models) to take part in it like everyone else.

  • Our culture is about innovation, winning, and customer obsession. We are full of top performers that prioritize excellence and results, as well as support for one another, on the path to achieving our mission: to verify 100% of good identities in real time and completely eliminate identity fraud for every applicant on the internet.

What you’ll do:

  • Learn the Socure brand and offerings and stay up to date on Socure’s Terminology. (Don’t worry, in your first 30 days you will work closely with the Sales Enablement team to fully immerse you in Socure’s brand and offerings, as well as specific terminology and tactics)

  • Understand our core products in order to effectively qualify and engage prospective customers.

  • Present and pitch Socure products through a strategic method of cold calls, emails campaigns, and social media contact.

  • Follow up on inbound leads and referrals, maintaining CRM hygiene, and taking good notes.

  • Conduct research to identify potential clients and target industries

  • Generate and qualify leads through various channels, including cold calling, email outreach, and social media prospecting

  • Articulate the company's value proposition and product offerings to potential customers

  • Engage with prospects and build relationships through effective communication and follow-up

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings or product demonstrations with qualified leads for the sales team

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective strategies for lead generation and pipeline development

  • Keep accurate records of lead interactions and sales activities using CRM software

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities

  • Align with campaign leaders and account executives to drive meetings with target accounts that result in net-new pipeline and deal velocity

What you’ll bring:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Outstanding phone skills and ability to handle 100+ calls per day

  • Ability to ‘hunt’ for new leads and information on existing leads

  • Ability to set and hold a strong standard for self directed work

  • Personal drive and internal motivation towards high achievement

  • Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills

  • Prior experience as a Sales Development Representative or Account Executive with a track record of achieving sales quotes with SaaS related products

  • Excited by the challenges of a fast-paced, mission-driven company set on disrupting the identity and fraud verification industry

  • Self-motivated and target-driven mindset

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the Identity Verification, Fraud or Compliance Space

  • Familiarity with Outreach.io, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Salesforce CRM, and 6Sense

  • Background in SaaS, FinTech, Security Tech, or Startups

  • Experience in working closely with Marketing and Sales

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
