Read AI is a leading productivity AI company focused on helping individuals and businesses optimize their workflows across meetings, messages, and email. With seamless cross-platform integration with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, Slack, Hubspot, and Salesforce, Read AI revolutionizes how teams connect and collaborate by providing an AI copilot wherever they work.

We’re excited to share that we recently closed a $50 million Series B funding round, led by Smash Capital, with continued support from existing investors Madrona and Goodwater Capital. This new funding brings our total to $81 million, just six months after our Series A. We're just getting started, so if you're passionate about shipping early, often, and impacting millions, we'd love for you to join our growing team!

The Role:

Read AI is looking for a Business Development Representative to join our sales team. This isn't a traditional BDR role, as you will wear multiple hats supporting the sales team to grow revenue and brand awareness. You will help grow revenue by qualifying inbound leads, outbound prospecting into target markets or customers, and working with Account Executives to help account plan and build out sales strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B SaaS sales, and will thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • The Business Development Representative (BDR) will generate new business through outbound calls and targeted emails to potential clients
  • The BDR qualifies prospective customers through targeted questions about their business strategy and then leverages this information to align and sell Read AI
  • This position spends roughly 75% of the time qualifying prospects for the sales team through outbound prospecting efforts and 25% of the time qualifying inbound leads.
  • Business Development Reps will receive hands-on training with an emphasis on strategic discovery and thorough qualification
  • This position is a great way for individuals to gain in-depth experience in a rapidly growing AI SaaS startup.
  • This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Business Development
  • The BDR will use the CRM strategically to record information and identify further opportunities in their assigned territory
  • Create and execute on strategic outbound prospecting campaigns through a mix of call and email outreach.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience in B2B sales, ideally with SaaS or technology solutions.
  • Track Record: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in an early-stage startup environment, exceeding KPIs
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively write and influence decision makers resulting in customer engagement.
  • Sales Skills: Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices, particularly in managing inbound leads and outbound methodologies.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly understand and articulate technical concepts and value propositions.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience with CRM software (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce) and sales enablement tools.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field.

Why Read AI?

  • Innovative:  We're set to bring AI to the masses by introducing technology designed to improve every interaction.
  • Massive Impact:  AI's greatest impact will be on the ability to allow people to do more, taking away mundane tasks and allowing them to focus on what matters the most.
  • Growth Opportunities:  Read AI is the fastest growing meeting notetaker in history, and is on pace to be one of the fastest growing consumer AI companies.  With a recent $21MM Series A lead by Goodwater and Madrona, Read is set to build AI for the rest of us.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work in a supportive and collaborative environment with a diverse and talented team.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $70,000, with an additional performance-based variable component of up to 30%. Actual total compensation will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.

Please note our company does not provide visa support or sponsorship for employees.
