Description

What is Novidea?

Novidea is an insurtech company solving the toughest challenges faced by Brokers, Agents, MGAs/MGUs, and Carriers. Our innovative, data-driven insurance distribution platform empowers users to manage the entire policy lifecycle across all lines of business, leveraging actionable insights to inform every business decision, cross-sell, and up-sell.

By providing a 360-degree view of the business, Novidea gives our customers a significant competitive edge. We’ve earned strong traction in the Specialty market—including Lloyd’s of London—and are expanding rapidly across the globe.

What’s the Job?

We’re looking for a driven and enthusiastic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing Sales team. As a BDR at Novidea, you'll play a key role in fueling our pipeline and accelerating growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities.

You’ll be the first point of contact with prospective customers—researching leads, sparking conversations, and helping decision-makers discover how Novidea’s platform can transform their business. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, a passion for technology, and a desire to grow in the world of SaaS and insurtech.

What You’ll Do

Lead Generation & Outreach

  • Proactively source leads through platforms like LinkedIn, events, and company databases.
  • Initiate outbound communication via cold calls, emails, and social media to spark interest in Novidea’s solutions.
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand prospects’ challenges and align their needs with our platform.

Qualify & Develop Pipeline

  • Assess lead quality and fit based on defined criteria.
  • Nurture prospects and schedule meetings for Account Executives.
  • Maintain a robust, organized pipeline within the CRM (e.g., Salesforce).

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Work closely with marketing to support campaigns and optimize outreach strategies.
  • Partner with Account Executives to ensure seamless handoffs and high-quality customer experiences.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams to continuously improve lead-gen tactics.

 Track & Report Progress

  • Log all activities and insights in the CRM accurately.
  • Analyse performance metrics and share regular updates with sales leadership.
  • Identify trends to refine prospecting strategies and outreach playbooks.

Stay Informed & Insightful

  • Keep up with insurance market trends, industry players, and competitor positioning.
  • Gather prospect feedback and contribute to refining product messaging.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in a sales, lead generation, or customer-facing role (internships and early career roles welcome!)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a proactive, results-driven approach
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, SalesLoft)

Even Better If You Have…

  • Experience in SaaS, B2B sales, or the insurtech/insurance space
  • Knowledge of tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, or similar lead-gen platforms
  • A track record of hitting or exceeding KPIs in a sales role

Key Metrics for Success

  • Number of qualified leads generated
  • Conversion rate from lead to opportunity
  • Discovery calls and meetings scheduled
  • Engagement and response rates from outbound outreach

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
