Primary Purpose:
- Build a pipeline of leads using enrichment tools and strategies including cold outreach, cold calling and marketing strategies to bring leads into the organization
Key Responsibilities:
- Passively supporting the operations team with the full RFP lifecycle from procurement to submission.
- Passively procure unique RFPs, awards and grants that align with our industries and experience
- Identify business development opportunities within networking events, conferences and conversation (cold outreach) that develop leverage and presence for Speer Technologies within the public/private sectors
- Tangible effort building partnerships with consulting firms and industry adjacent organizations for marketing, collaborations and event driven initiatives
- Learning and leveraging tools like Clay, LinkedIn, Apollo, Hubspot and other technology platforms to source deals
- Observe our current roles, responsibilities, and approval workflows. Build confidence to critique and identify areas of improvement or experimentation.
- Keep CRM and tracking tools up to date with opportunities, deadlines, and results.
- Writing clear emails, documentation, statements of work and pitch decks with clear, effective communication
- Performing market research to understand your target audience, markets and their gaps
- Working with the technical teams to build decks and put together SOWs
Expected Outcomes:
- Improved win/loss ratio for deal closing.
- Writing statements of work with clear pricing alongside strong communication using cold outreach
- Building relationships within organizations demonstrated through networking events, conferences and conversation (cold outreach)
- Contribute to a growing pipeline of qualified leads.
- Gain confidence in cold outreach, writing effective emails, and using sales tools (LinkedIn, Hubspot, Clay, Apollo, etc)
- Support relationship-building efforts with decision makers in both public and private sectors.
- Develop understanding of Speer Technologies’ markets, ideal customer profile (ICP), and positioning strategies.
First 90 Days:
- Learn the current cold outreach process and provide feedback on improvements.
- Reach out to at least 50,000 leads per month through supported outreach strategies.
- Convert at least one lead of any deal size.
- Show tangible effort in supporting partnerships, marketing campaigns, or event initiatives.
Metrics for Success:
- Target win rate improvement of 5–10% within 3 months through effective communication, market research and statements of work
- Introductions to 10+ industry leaders within the government and public sector (CIOs, CEOs, Heads/Managers and IT Directors)
- Introductions to 10+ industry leaders within the private sector (CIOs, CEOs, Heads/Managers, Marketing, Creative and Engineering Leads)
- Learning about effective cold outreach through our infrastructure
Compensation Package
Base Salary: $50,000-150,000 + commission
Commission Structure: Tiered, aligned with deal size bands.
Commission by Deal Type
- $10K → 10% commission
- $10K–$50K → 8% commission
- $50K–$100K → 6% commission
- $100K–$500K → 5% commission
- $500K–$2M → 4% commission
- Enterprise / Strategic Deals ($2M+) → 3% commission
Payout Examples
- Website ($10K) → $10K × 10% = $1,000
- Advanced Website ($50K) → $50K × 8% = $4,000
- Mobile App ($100K) → $100K × 6% = $6,000
- Complex Application ($500K) → $500K × 5% = $25,000
- Custom Development ($2M) → $2M × 4% = $80,000
- Enterprise Deal ($12M total annual wins)
- $2M × 4% = $80,000
- $10M × 3% = $300,000
- Accelerator (+1%) on $12M = $120,000
- Total = $500,000
