The ideal candidate will also support the design and improvement of competitive compensation structures and benefits packages to attract and retain talent.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & Statutory Compliance

  • Stay updated on Philippine labor laws, tax regulations (BIR), and statutory benefits changes; implement necessary adjustments in payroll and policies.

  • Prepare and submit required government reports (e.g., Quarterly BIR 1601C, Annual Alphalist) and ensure proper tax withholding and annualization.

Compensation Management

  • Participate in annual salary surveys (e.g., Mercer, Willis Towers Watson) to benchmark the company’s compensation levels against the market.

  • Assist in the design and review of the company’s salary structure, pay scales, and allowance policies to maintain internal equity and external competitiveness.

  • Support the annual merit increase and bonus payout processes, including budget simulation, data preparation, and communication.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer company benefits programs: HMO, group life insurance, retirement, leave entitlements, allowances, and other perks.

  • Manage relationships with HMO providers, brokers, and other benefits vendors to ensure cost-effective and quality service.

  • Conduct orientation and refresher sessions to ensure employees fully understand their benefits package.

  • Handle employee queries on benefits, claims, and statutory entitlements in a timely manner.

  • Propose enhancements to the benefits package based on employee needs analysis and market trends.

Data, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, especially compensation-related data (salary history, job codes, cost centers).

  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on headcount cost, labor cost analysis, overtime trends, and benefits utilization.

  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline C&B processes; lead HRIS payroll module upgrades or system implementation projects as needed.

  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all C&B processes to ensure business continuity.

Employee Relations & Communication

  • Act as the point of contact for all employee compensation and benefits inquiries, maintaining a high standard of confidentiality.

  • Partner with the HR Business Partner team to resolve pay-related issues and provide guidance on promotion, transfer, and separation calculations.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll and benefits documentation.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or CEHR certification is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role in the Philippines.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Philippine payroll, mandatory benefits, and BIR tax filing requirements is a must.

  • Experience in salary structure design, job grading, and participation in salary surveys (Mercer, WTW, etc.).

  • Exposure to HRIS payroll modules (SAP, Oracle, ADP, or local Philippine payroll systems like Salarium, PayrollHero, etc.).
