The $13T mortgage industry at the heart of the American economy still runs on phone calls, browser tabs, and 20th-century workflows. While payments and banking moved into the API era, mortgage origination costs have doubled to $12,000 per loan…undermining originator economics and homeowner affordability.

While others continue to optimize around the edges, we’re rebuilding America’s mortgage infrastructure from the ground up, vertically integrating mortgage origination from application to settlement. We’re already powering mortgage products for multiple publicly traded companies, our revenue is doubling month over month, and we’re backed by the architects of the modern fintech stack (Peter Thiel, Conversion Capital, QED, Citi, Fifth Wall, and the founders of Ramp, Blend, and Mercury).

Technical Oversight - Post ClosingAbout Pylon

The $13 trillion mortgage industry runs on fragmented systems, manual workflows, and brittle delivery processes that create risk at the point where capital matters most.

Pylon is rebuilding mortgage infrastructure from the ground up. We are creating an API-first, programmatic platform that automates credit, compliance, capital, and operations—enabling lenders to scale through software, not headcount.

Our team comes from Stripe, Better, and Affirm, and we are backed by Conversion Capital, QED, Citi, Fifth Wall, Peter Thiel, and the founders of Ramp, Mercury, Blend, and others.

About the Role

We are hiring a Technical Oversight - Post Closing to own loan delivery, purchase timelines, and post-closing issue resolution across our investor and whole-loan channels. This role is accountable for ensuring closed loans are delivered cleanly, purchased quickly, and resolved efficiently when issues arise.

You will serve as the primary owner of investor delivery and rebuttals, as well as the main point of contact for sellers whose loans we purchase and the investors we sell to. This is a hands-on role for someone who has independently managed suspense, negotiated rebuttals, and understands how post-closing execution directly impacts cash flow, credibility, and risk.

This role operates post-close, with full authority once loans fund, and plays a critical role in protecting capital and scaling delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Ownership & Execution

  • Own end-to-end delivery of closed loans to investors and whole-loan purchasers, ensuring timely submission and purchase

  • Build and maintain investor-specific delivery checklists, eligibility gates, and suspense prevention controls

  • This role also owns the day-to-day execution and performance of offshore post-closing and delivery teams, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with investor delivery standards.

  • Track and manage purchase timelines, days-to-cash, and aging inventory

Suspense, Rebuttals & Issue Resolution

  • Manage all investor suspense, rebuttals, and curative documentation through final purchase

  • Act as the primary escalation point for delivery disputes, exceptions, and delayed purchases

  • Partner with legal and compliance on complex delivery issues or investor challenges

Investor & Seller Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for investor delivery and post-purchase review teams

  • Manage communications with correspondent sellers whose loans we purchase, including suspense requests, rebuttals, and resolution timelines

  • Ensure external communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with contractual and delivery requirements

Reporting, SLAs & Continuous Improvement

  • Own reporting on delivery performance, including first-pass purchase rates, suspense rates, rebuttal cycles, and cash timing

  • Set and enforce post-closing delivery SLAs, holding internal teams accountable

  • Perform root-cause analysis on delivery issues and drive process improvements to reduce repeat defects

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of post-closing and investor delivery experience, with flexibility for candidates who demonstrate deep, multi-investor ownership

  • Proven experience independently managing delivery, suspense, and rebuttals across multiple investors

  • Prior role as an escalation point for delayed purchases, delivery disputes, or investor exceptions

  • Experience designing, improving, or rebuilding post-closing and delivery workflows

  • Strong working knowledge of LOS platforms and investor delivery portals

  • Ability to track, analyze, and report on delivery performance metrics and cash timing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort engaging directly with investors and sellers

  • High attention to detail, strong judgment, and a bias toward ownership and accountability

What This Role Is Not
  • Not a checklist-only post-closing role

  • Not limited to document trailing or file indexing

  • Not a passive coordination position

  • This role owns outcomes: delivery quality, purchase timing, and issue resolution

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
