Beamable is the engine powering Skillz Inc.'s infrastructure and serves as the third component of the connected ecosystem, alongside RZR and the Skillz competition platform. Beyond Skillz, Beamable continues to be the platform of choice for the developers and studios that trusted it before the acquisition, making it a foundational layer not just for Skillz, but across the live-service gaming industry at large.
About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer will define and execute Beamable's strategic vision, establishing it as the category-defining platform for building and operating live-service games. The ideal candidate is a proven operator who understands the developer ecosystem and is experienced in scaling product led growth SaaS businesses. The mission is to make backend development frictionless for everyone. The CEO will be responsible for driving growth across developer acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization, while pushing the platform into the next frontier of agentic AI, where games can intelligently automate operations, personalize player experiences, and make real-time decisions. This role will report into the CEO of Skillz, Inc.

Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a compelling long-term vision and product strategy for Beamable, aligned with Skillz Inc.'s portfolio goals.
- Lead and grow a high-performing, mission-driven team; attract top engineering, product, and go-to-market talent.
- Drive developer acquisition, activation, and retention — building durable relationships with studios of all sizes.
- Own the full P&L; maintain disciplined focus on capital efficiency and sustainable unit economics.
- Deepen product-market fit by translating developer pain points into platform capabilities that reduce time-to-ship and improve live operations.
- Establish strategic partnerships with game engines, cloud providers, and platform ecosystems.
- Represent Beamable externally — at industry events, with press, and with the developer community.

- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams, presenting growth strategies and results to executives, and building relationships with external partners and platforms.
- ROI Focus: Expertise in scaling platform economics, including monetization strategy, ecosystem development, customer acquisition, retention, partnerships, and diversification of revenue streams.
- C Staff Management: Worked with C staff to understand and articulate the company mission to the engineering and design teams.
Experience
- Proven experience as a CEO, GM, or senior operating leader in a developer-focused SaaS, BaaS, gaming, or platform business.
- Deep understanding of the game development ecosystem — including the technical and operational challenges studios face at scale.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure , API and backend systems, multiplayer/live-service game architecture.
- Track record of growing developer communities and platform adoption, ideally in a bottoms-up or product-led growth model.
- Experience hiring and leading cross-functional teams spanning engineering, product, and commercial functions.
- Financial acumen; comfort owning a P&L and making capital allocation decisions with rigor.
- Strong communicator and builder of trust — both internally and with a technical external audience.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable operating with ambiguity and building systems and process from early stages.
- Prior experience as a company founder, with a strong track record in GTM strategy and commercial execution, is a plus.
Total Starting Compensation including Base + Bonus + Equity: $200,000 - $300,000 Base + Bonus + Equity
Location: Remote, US.
Travel Requirement: Up to 25-40% (domestic)
