Dandy is transforming the massive ($200B) but antiquated dental industry. Backed by some of the world's leading venture capital investors, we are on an ambitious mission to integrate and simplify every function of the dental practice through technology. By building the operating system for every dental office in America, Dandy is empowering dentists with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practice, their people, and their patients.

Dandy is hiring a Clear Aligner Designer to join our rapidly growing team. This role is critical in designing high-quality, predictable clear aligner treatment plans that align with Dandy’s clinical standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in orthodontic treatment planning, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow clinical guidelines to ensure successful patient outcomes.

As a Clear Aligner Designer, you will be responsible for treatment plan setup, staging tooth movements, and incorporating appropriate attachments and auxiliaries. You will work closely with our QC team and clinical experts to refine designs and ensure they meet both doctor expectations and internal quality standards.

What You'll Do

  • Design clear aligner treatment plans based on all patients records, including patient scans and prescriptions, following internal planning best practices.

  • Stage tooth movements predictably, incorporating attachments, interproximal reduction (IPR), and other auxiliaries to optimize treatment outcomes.

  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to clinical guidelines while following Dandy’s aligner design philosophy.

  • Collaborate with QC specialists and clinical teams to incorporate feedback and improve treatment plan quality.

  • Utilize 3D treatment planning software (e.g., 3Shape Ortho Analyzer, Archform, Sofsmile, OnyxCeph) to execute precise and efficient designs.

  • Continuously refine and optimize workflows to enhance efficiency and standardization in aligner treatment planning.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in clear aligner treatment planning or orthodontic design.

  • Proficiency in 3D treatment planning software such as 3Shape Ortho Analyzer, Archform, SoftSmile, OnyxCeph, ULab, or Orchestrate3D.

  • Understanding of orthodontic tooth movements, attachments, IPR, and auxiliary techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow internal planning best practices.

  • Ability to operate independently while working collaboratively with QC specialists and clinical teams.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking in designing predictable orthodontic movements.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and ensure clarity in design expectations.

  • Good English speaking skills.

  • Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and workflows to optimize aligner treatment planning.

  • Ability to work US hours to align with Dandy’s operational needs.

  • Openness to feedback and continuous learning to enhance treatment plan designs.

  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with clear aligner manufacturing processes and associated workflows.

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as MeshMixer or Blender.

  • Previous exposure to digital orthodontics and treatment planning workflows.

  • Passion for innovation and process improvement in orthodontic treatment planning.

For full time positions, we offer a wide range of best in class, comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits including healthcare, dental, parental planning, mental health benefits, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
