About the Team

OpenAI’s mission is to ensure the responsible and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence. In support of that mission, the Sales team partners closely with customers to deeply understand their businesses and needs, helping inform the development of products and solutions that drive meaningful revenue growth and long-term success on the platform—while maintaining strong standards for user trust and platform integrity.

About the Role

As a Client Partner, Media & Entertainment, you will be responsible for driving new and expanded advertising revenue across some of the world's leading media, streaming, entertainment, gaming, and content companies. You will help advertisers leverage OpenAI's platform to connect with highly engaged audiences in innovative and responsible ways.

This role is focused on driving new business and growing strategic partnerships with Media & Entertainment advertisers. You will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting through deal closure—developing long-term commercial relationships that help advertisers achieve their business objectives while ensuring a high-quality and trustworthy experience on our platform.

You'll work closely with Account Managers and key cross-functional partners to ensure advertisers achieve successful outcomes after the sale, while maintaining primary ownership of revenue growth, commercial strategy, and executive relationships within your portfolio.

In this role, you will:

  • Prospect, qualify, and close new advertising opportunities across the Media & Entertainment landscape.

  • Own and achieve a defined revenue target within the Media & Entertainment vertical.

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that drive advertiser ROI, audience engagement, and long-term revenue growth.

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers, including executives across advertising sales, media strategy, brand marketing, audience development, and partnerships functions.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, identifying opportunities to leverage OpenAI's advertising solutions to support initiatives such as content launches, subscriber acquisition, audience growth, live events, franchise expansion, and fan engagement.

  • Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements tailored to the unique needs of Media & Entertainment advertisers.

  • Quantify opportunities through clear, data-driven business cases aligned to advertiser objectives and performance outcomes.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Account Management, Product, Measurement, Marketing, and Operations, to deliver exceptional client experiences and maximize business impact.

  • Gather and synthesize advertiser feedback to help shape the future evolution of OpenAI's advertising products and go-to-market strategy within the Media & Entertainment category.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive dynamics, shifts in media consumption, and emerging technologies impacting advertisers across the Media & Entertainment ecosystem.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

  • Significant experience in digital advertising sales, partnerships, or business development within the Media & Entertainment industry.

  • Deep relationships with key stakeholders across streaming services, studios, gaming companies, broadcasters, publishers, sports organizations, agencies, and entertainment marketers.

  • A track record of exceeding revenue goals and closing complex, high-value commercial partnerships.

  • Experience navigating matrixed organizations and engaging effectively with senior executive stakeholders.

  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and strategic planning capabilities.

  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and helping build new businesses from the ground up.

  • Passion for emerging technologies and excitement about the opportunity to shape how AI transforms the future of advertising and consumer engagement.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
