Title: Clinical EMR Support Specialist

Location: Meridian Administration Office (on-site) - EMR Department

City: Bellingham, WA

Position: Part-time with potential to transition to full-time. Monday-Friday, initially 20 hours/week between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm 

Compensation: The full wage scale is $19.50 – $25.55 per hour. Placement within the wage range is determined by an evaluation of the candidate’s background, education and experience.

  • PTO, PSL, and EIB accrue starting on your first day, and you can use paid time off after the applicable days of employment
  • Full-time employees generally begin earning 21 days of PTO, increasing 33 days over time per our PTO policy.  You can rollover unlimited PTO hours into the next year.
  • PSL accrues at 1 hour per 40 hours worked
  • EIB accrues up to 32 hours per year (pro-rated based on hours worked) for both part-time and full-time employees, with a maximum of 480 hours

Job Summary

The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Clinical Assistant position is responsible for providing support for FCN’s EMR application. This position may have other duties as assigned and is responsible for adhering to FCN company policies and standards. Duties assigned are role specific and may involve all or some of the duties as listed below.

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding or an ability to learn essential functions of the EMR application.
  • Demonstrates ability to support implementation of application changes to meet needs of users.
  • Able to obtain data, reports and information as needed from the EMR application.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge base of computer technology and ability to communicate to employees.
  • Employee seeks assistance as needed and communicates questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff. (Practice Managers, Supervisor, Super-User, Colleagues, Providers).
  • Desktop management coverage as needed
  • Support data review and entry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of a medical office practice.
  • Skill in establishing good employee relations including conflict resolution
  • Intermediate computer skills - use of computer applications for Health Information Systems, Excel, Word, EMR, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate information accurately and clearly (verbally and in writing, in person and over the telephone) with patients, all levels of personnel, and other individuals and groups.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties.
  • Ability to accurately perform detailed work, (i.e. plan, multitask, organize and prioritize work).
  • Ability to work as part of a team that shares and leverages the strengths of its members
  • Ability to discern and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Medical office experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Immunization Requirements:

Employees are required to meet immunization standards in accordance with federal, state, and organizational health and safety guidelines, as applicable to the role. A simple process is in place for employees to request exemptions for medical or religious reasons.
