Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Cloud Architect leads the design and governance of enterprise-wide cloud strategies. Using technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities this role drives digital transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for defining cloud architecture standards, guiding complex migrations, and ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Architect and govern cloud solutions across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
- Lead cloud strategy development, including multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud adoption.
- Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align cloud initiatives with business objectives.
- Define and enforce cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance models.
- Oversee cloud security, compliance, and risk management in collaboration with InfoSec teams.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for adoption.
- Drive cost optimization and performance tuning across cloud environments.
- Lead large-scale cloud migration and modernization projects from legacy systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams to define cloud architecture, ensuring data quality, security, and governance.
- Architect Cloud solutions that are highly scalable, performant, reliable, and cost-effective to meet current and future business needs.
- Design Cloud systems with security and compliance. considerations at the forefront, adhering to relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions with existing enterprise systems and data sources.
- Effectively communicate the cloud vision, strategy, and architectural blueprints to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in cloud and related technologies, evaluating their potential impact and recommending innovative solutions.
- Experience in managing cloud projects from conception to deployment, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Define and enforce best practices, standards, and guidelines for cloud development, deployment, and maintenance across the organization.
- Create comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and systems to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- Collaborate across countries and cultures to develop shared practices, standards, and communities of excellence that reflect Carrix's global footprint.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT, with 8+ years in cloud architecture roles.
- Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, containers, and serverless computing.
- Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, identity, and access management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a strategic mindset required.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect -- Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) preferred.
- ITIL certification required (or within 90 days of employment).
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Pay Range$165,000 -185,000 per year
