Role Overview

The Color and Quality Manager supports the Quality Assurance and Compliance functions across all product categories, with a particular focus on color consistency, product testing, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that standards are met through coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and external 3rd Party partners. The manager will work collaboratively to maintain quality performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage needed quality functions for DG Private Label and national brand programs.
  • Support product quality testing and compliance for color, performance, regulatory and product safety.
  • Collaborate with CFT to support implementation of compliant material/style needs through critical manufacturing meetings (CMM), with findings reported to factories/teams for notification and support.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining QA standards, procedures, and testing protocols for color and materials for adherence to established brand standards/requirements.
  •  Partner with QA, design, and production teams to support the evaluation and escalation/resolve of quality and color-related issues during development and bulk production.
  • Work with third-party partners and internal teams/labs to review/support testing results for performance and claims testing.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and follow up on improvement plans or corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Quality Management, Production, or a related field.
  •  Minimum 10 years of experience in apparel quality or color management
  • Working knowledge of color evaluation methods and performance testing standards.
  • Experience with restricted substances, labeling, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and quality tracking systems.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with both internal teams and suppliers.
  • Experience working with major retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Costco (PL)is preferred.
  • Ability to organize multiple projects and maintain attention to detail under deadlines.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused work style.

This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Secaucus, New Jersey office.


PAY RATE: $100,000/yr-$120,000/yr
