Department Overview
Product Sourcing and Supply Intelligence (PSSI) team focused on strengthening supply chain resilience through strategic part sourcing and risk mitigation by guiding part selection and driving alternate sourcing during product development — ensuring BOM health, flexibility, and supply readiness for on-cost, on-ramp success.
Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and analytical individual to join our team as a Component Engineer. This role focuses on identifying dual-source options, managing crisis parts, and enabling data-driven decisions to support business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify alternative and dual-source part solutions for at-risk components or constrained supply.

  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost structures to recommend competitive alternates.

  • Ensure alternate proposals meet internal standards, external regulatory compliance and aligned with Procurement strategy

  • Support the development and execution of contingency and mitigation plans to manage supply risks

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align on proposals and execution timelines..

  • Conduct competitive benchmarking to provide insights that support cost and design improvement and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Maintain and track mitigation activities in Funnel database and provide updates to stakeholders


Basic Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.  

  • 6 - 7 years of experience in component engineering, supply chain, sourcing, or NPI-related functions.  

  • Strong understanding of electronic components (active, passive, electromechanical) and BOM structure.  

  • Familiarity with part qualification processes, dual/alternate sourcing, and risk mitigation strategies.  

  • Experience working with PLM systems (e.g., Agile), component databases (e.g., SiliconExpert), and BI tools (e.g., Tableau).  

  • Ability to interpret datasheets, part specifications, and understand compliance requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH).  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to assess technical feasibility of alternate parts.  

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in cross-functional and global environments.  

  • Detail-oriented, self-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
