Why This Role Exists

We are hiring a Communications and Content Specialist to turn our communications strategy into clear, accurate, and timely content. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role ensures that our external narrative is consistently well-crafted across media, social channels, and executive platforms.

This position sits at the center of our day-to-day communications operations. You will manage content drafting, channel execution, and coordination across the organization, partnering closely with Marketing, Government Relations, the People Team, and senior leaders.

Success in this role requires a steady hand in managing concurrent deadlines and reviewers, a sharp editorial eye, and the ability to quickly translate complex topics into concise content tailored for distinct audiences.

What You’ll Do

You will manage day-to-day drafting and content coordination to support our external communications strategy. Your core responsibilities include:

  • drafting and editing press releases, op-eds, executive bylines, talking points, briefing materials, and blog posts

  • translating complex business, product, policy, and industry topics into concise content for distinct audiences while preserving accuracy and context

  • maintaining core communications resources and coordinating the cross-functional content calendar to identify dependencies and resolve scheduling conflicts

  • monitoring news and industry conversations to flag emerging risks and opportunities for the Communications Director

  • supporting rapid-response communications through research, drafting, fact-checking, and distribution coordination

  • drafting, scheduling, and adapting approved content across Onebrief social channels while adhering to review requirements

  • researching and writing thought-leadership materials to help senior leaders express complex ideas clearly

Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of professional writing, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking experience

  • Experience producing content for external audiences across several formats and channels

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage concurrent deadlines, reviewers, and dependencies

  • Sound judgment when handling sensitive information, public issues, executive materials, and fast-moving communications

  • Ability to learn complex subjects quickly, ask precise questions, and work productively with subject-matter experts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of media relations, social publishing, and content management systems

  • Experience managing editorial calendars and performance reporting to incorporate feedback and improve content strategy

Indicators of Success

This role will evolve as priorities change, but the outcomes below reflect what success typically looks like in the first six months.
A successful Communications and Content Specialist will:

  • establish a reliable daily and weekly rhythm for drafting, reviewing, and publishing external communications

  • successfully translate technical or policy-heavy concepts into accessible content without losing accuracy or company voice

  • maintain a well-organized cross-functional content calendar that keeps Marketing, Government Relations, and Communications aligned

  • deliver rapid-response materials and executive briefing documents quickly and accurately under tight deadlines

  • provide actionable recommendations for improving our social media and digital content performance based on audience data
