Reports to: Samantha Morales, Senior Director of Public Relations and Communications

Reporting to the Senior Director of Public Relations and Communications, the Communications & Enrollment Marketing Manager will manage the day-to-day execution of Minerva University’s email marketing, CRM operations, enrollment marketing communications, editorial content, internal communications, and external institutional profiles.

Working within the university's broader communications strategy, this role will develop and deliver targeted campaigns supporting enrollment, lead nurturing, and institutional priorities; manage recurring communications such as the Minerva Memorandum staff newsletter, student and alumni newsletters, and other institutional publications; oversee CRM operations including lead management, forms, audience segmentation, list management, and communication workflows; and maintain Minerva's presence across key external platforms including College Board, Niche, and other institutional profiles.

The Communications & Content Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with colleagues across Communications, Enrollment, Advancement, Academics, Student Experience, and other university functions to ensure communications are timely, accurate, engaging, and aligned with Minerva’s voice and institutional priorities.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, editor, project manager, and marketing operations professional with experience managing CRM systems, executing email campaigns, and maintaining operational processes that support enrollment and institutional communications. They should be comfortable moving between strategic planning, hands-on execution, and system administration while managing multiple priorities across cultures, functions, and time zones.

This is a highly visible, mission-critical role that helps shape how prospective students, current students, alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and external partners experience Minerva University. Through strategic communications, marketing operations, and CRM management, this position plays an instrumental role in supporting enrollment goals, strengthening institutional reputation, fostering community engagement, and ensuring audiences receive timely, personalized, and meaningful communications throughout their relationship with the university.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day CRM operations, including lead management, inquiry routing, forms, audience lists, communication workflows, data hygiene, and related administrative functions.
  • Maintain and optimize CRM forms, automations, and audience segmentation to support enrollment communications and operational efficiency.
  • Manage Minerva University's institutional profiles across external platforms such as College Board, Niche, and other higher education directories, ensuring information remains accurate, current, and aligned with institutional messaging.
  • Coordinate updates and communications with external profile partners and vendors to support recruitment, visibility, and institutional marketing initiatives.
  • Execute communications plans supporting Minerva University’s enrollment, institutional, and internal communications priorities.
  • Partner with Enrollment to produce targeted email campaigns for prospective students and families throughout the recruitment and enrollment journey.
  • Manage the editorial calendar and content production process for institutional newsletters, and other recurring communications.
  • Write, edit, and publish content that translates Minerva’s programs, ideas, and institutional priorities into clear and engaging narratives.
  • Help coordinate recurring internal communications that keep faculty and staff informed and connected across Minerva’s globally distributed organization.
  • Work with colleagues across the university to gather information, identify stories, coordinate reviews, and secure necessary approvals.
  • Incorporate SEO best practices and emerging approaches to AI-driven discoverability into digital content.
  • Track email and content performance, prepare reports, and recommend improvements based on engagement data and audience insights.
  • Implement established editorial standards, templates, processes, and quality-control practices across communications channels.
  • Manage concurrent projects and production deadlines while coordinating with stakeholders across teams and time zones.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • At least five years of experience in communications, marketing, content strategy, or a related field, preferably within higher education or a mission-driven organization.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, accessible, and engaging content for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing email campaigns, including audience segmentation, testing, quality assurance, deployment, and performance analysis.
  • Experience managing CRM systems, including communications workflows, lead management, forms, audience segmentation, list management, and concurrent campaigns involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Experience with enrollment communications, long-form content, newsletters, and institutional storytelling strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using email and content performance data to identify insights and improve engagement.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and emerging approaches to optimizing content for AI-driven search and discoverability.
  • Experience publishing and maintaining content through a content management system.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including the ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality across high-volume communications.
  • Sound editorial judgment and the ability to handle sensitive or confidential institutional information with discretion.
  • Strong project management, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing internal communications within a distributed or global organization strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with colleagues across cultures, functions, and time zones.
  •  Experience with Slate CRM strongly preferred. Experience managing CRM operations, including lead management, forms, audience segmentation, list pulls, and communications workflows, is highly desirable. Familiarity with Mailchimp, Canva, Beefree, and content management systems also preferred.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
