Job Summary

We’re looking for a Compliance Manager to join our fast-growing Legal, Compliance, & Risk (LCR) team. In this role, you’ll provide important support to the needs of a dynamic, global professional services organization in the engineering and technical consulting industry. The Compliance Manager will manage the day-to-day aspects of the compliance and ethics program under the direction of the Global Compliance + Employment Managing Counsel.
This role will focus on managing the day-to-day compliance and ethics program for a major New York, NY public client, ensuring operational compliance with client ethics and compliance standards and regulations.
As Compliance Manager, you’ll partner with cross-functional, global teams, including members of the LCR Team, Operations, Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, and Marketing & Strategy, ensuring efficient, compliant, and effective compliance operations. To be successful in this role, you must be diligent, highly detail-oriented, and enjoy managing projects with precision. You are flexible, keep yourself and others motivated, and can collaborate across departments and functions. You value teamwork and ethical integrity.
This position reports to the Global Compliance + Employment Managing Counsel.
Strong preference is given for a full-time in person or hybrid work arrangement (at least 3 times per week in-person) in one of our major offices in the United States or Canada, such as New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, or Vancouver.
A remote work arrangement is possible for the right, experienced candidate, and if based remotely, occasional travel may be required. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibility. The Compliance Manager’s initial and primary responsibility is compliance and ethics program management for a New York public client, including the following activities:

  • Compliance Management: Assist the Managing Counsel with execution and management of the compliance and ethics program in the New York office, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and client requirements.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate and distribute compliance updates to employees, subcontractors, and external partners with clarity and consistency. Collect information vendor, subcontractor, and employee.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure overall compliance with client ethics and compliance requirements.

  • Information Collection: Collect information from stakeholders to demonstrate compliance with internal policies and client requirements, including relevant certifications and disclosures.

  • Process Improvement: Develop compliance processes, workflows, and systems for process improvement and enhanced efficiency opportunities.

General Responsibilities. The Compliance Manager will assist the Managing Counsel in and work in the following areas:

  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data analytics. Provide updated reports to the Managing Counsel.

  • Training and Development: Assist in the creation and implementation of ethics and compliance training programs. Manage training platforms and track training completions.

  • Third-Party Risk Management: Support activities related to due diligence reviews of third parties, subcontractors, and business partners to identify and mitigate ethics and compliance risks.

  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative and other support to the Managing Counsel to ensure compliance program success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Juris Doctor with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in compliance management and oversight, preferably within engineering, architecture, technical consulting, construction, or professional services industry.

  • Strong understanding of ethics and compliance standards, laws, and regulations, preferably in multiple jurisdictions.

  • Experience with client-specific ethics and compliance programs or programs related to public agencies.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, including project management.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented and meticulous with a commitment to maintaining accurate records.

  • Proficiency in SharePoint, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to handle and be trusted with confidential and/or sensitive information.

  • Unquestionable integrity.

  • Experience designing or improving scalable compliance processes and tools.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $100,000 - $160,000 annually for this position and local market.
