We are looking for a Senior Fabric / Power BI Security Engineer to lead the development of a BI-focused security and remediation program for a global enterprise. This is a security-focused role, not a dashboard or report development position.
You’ll define remediation playbooks, automate governance enforcement, and partner with GRC and engineering stakeholders to ensure Power BI and Fabric environments stay compliant and secure at scale.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Develop and maintain security remediation playbooks for Power BI and Microsoft Fabric aligned to organizational risk and control frameworks.
- Implement a security lifecycle governance approach:
- Secure by Default: Enforce default compliant configurations for new BI assets.
- Continuous Compliance: Monitor, detect, and automate enforcement of BI governance policies.
- Risk Remediation: Identify gaps in legacy workspaces and datasets and drive remediation through automation.
- Integrate BI controls into enterprise dashboards and telemetry/reporting pipelines.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, BI platform teams, and reporting owners to define scalable access control and data governance strategies.
- Leverage policy signals and runtime detection to proactively manage BI security posture.
ABOUT YOU:
Your values:
- Integrity: You believe in doing the right thing, even when it's uncomfortable, seemingly inefficient, or costly.
- Purposefulness: You have a desire to serve others with your skillset and an openness to continuous learning and growth.
- Ownership: You stick to your commitments, follow up with action, and seek clarity in communication & expectations.
Your experience:
- 5+ years of experience securing and administering Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric environments at enterprise scale.
- Strong understanding of Power BI governance, access control, role-based security, and workspace lifecycle.
- Experience building or automating compliance and remediation workflows based on telemetry or runtime signals.
- Demonstrated ability to produce risk-aligned technical controls and implementation strategies.
- Familiarity with KPI/control reporting systems and integration with GRC platforms.
- Bonus: Experience with Zenity or comparable security automation tooling.
- This role is not a fit for BI developers without security governance ownership experience.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Salary range for this role is $140,000-$180,000 per year, dependent on experience.
- Medical, dental, vision plans
- 401(k) with matching
- 3 weeks of Paid Time Off, PLUS 8 paid company holidays and 2 flexible holidays for anything you want to celebrate!
- Work/life balance – we know there’s more to life than work! We encourage our team to pursue other passions, get outside, and spend time with family. We work with clients and consultants to set expectations for a manageable workload.
- Opportunities to connect in person and remotely with a passionate, supportive team that loves a good pun or GIF.
LOCATION:
This role can be remote.
