The Sikh Research Institute seeks a skilled contract Content Editor to support its publishing and research from July-Dec 2026. The editor will refine and polish written content across multiple projects, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency with SikhRI's voice and standards, serving as a copyeditor and proofreader.

Deliverables

State of the Panth Reports: Comprehensive copyediting and proofreading of longform reports, including feedback on structure, clarity, and flow. Estimated 15–20 hours per report, 2 reports.

The Sikh History Project: Editing 2 longform articles for grammar, readability, and consistency; light editing of 12 shortform factsheets for flow. Estimated 3 hours per article, 30 minutes per factsheet.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience editing longform nonfiction, academic, or research-oriented content
  • Strong command of grammar, style, and clarity
  • Ability to preserve an author's voice while improving readability
  • Familiarity with Sikh history, tradition, or related fields
  • Familiarity with SikhRI content and voice

Engagement

This is a project-based contract role. The editor will be engaged on a per-deliverable basis with set payments made upon delivery.
