About Workweek:

Workweek is revolutionizing how business leaders connect, learn, and operate by integrating distinct personalities, unparalleled expertise, and a vibrant community into a one-of-a-kind professional networking platform.

Our Approach:

Every social platform rewards the person with the most time to post. Expertise loses to volume, and the people actually running their companies get drowned out by people describing them from the outside.

Workweek is the opposite. We're the home for the practitioner creator, the operator who writes about the work while still doing it. That's why our readers trust what lands in their inbox. Today we have five networks covering healthcare, fintech, HR, marketing, and e-commerce, and more are coming.

That trust is what the rest of the business runs on. On the advertising side, a marketer hands us their target account list and we show them our coverage of it before they spend a dollar, then the engagement after. On the community side, we run professional memberships where leaders get peers worth knowing, a content library worth using, and tools that make their day-to-day easier.

We're five years in and just getting started.

About the role:

Workweek is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to create content and execute on the vision of The Marketing Millennials (TMM), our creator-led media brand for a community of 1.3M+ Marketers.

Reporting to the Director of Content, this role will act as a true partner to Creator Daniel Murray, producing excellent, expert-level content across newsletters, branded content, podcasts, and social media. The content should engage and inform Marketers who are still in the trenches doing the work.

This role is built for an exceptional writer who can absorb, reproduce, and ultimately own the TMM brand voice at volume. You'll run point on TMM's weekly deliverables and custom sponsor work, including in peak months when the calendar is sold out. You'll partner with our Senior Content Strategist on brand strategy, and you'll be the person who makes sure every piece ships on time and on voice.

This candidate is also ideally experienced in creating content for social platforms, particularly LinkedIn.

Note: All Workweek employees may work remotely, all work must be done in English and availability to meet during the Central Time Zone workday is required.

What you'll do:
  • Act as the day-to-day expert on and gatekeeper of Daniel's voice and brand, in collaboration with Daniel and the Director of Content.

  • Absorb and maintain TMM's editorial guidelines and content themes.

  • Own the full branded content workflow, from kickoff through delivery. That includes turning advertising campaign briefs into drafts, consolidating client feedback rounds, and keeping Daniel's review time focused on refinement rather than rewrites.

  • Deliver drafts ready for a refinement pass, flag deadline risks early, and visibly incorporate feedback from prior rounds.

  • Partner with the Senior Content Strategist on editorial planning and bring your own ideas and angles to writers' rooms.

  • Represent the creator and brand across a wide variety of formats, including:

    • Curated newsletters

    • Branded content (newsletter ads, sponsored deep dives and blog posts, etc.)

    • Virtual event outlines and promotional copy

    • Custom podcast and video script support

    • Podcast titles and descriptions, and selection of 2-3 highlight clips per episode

    • Social content curated from the creator's existing coverage and promotional calendar

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a content or social marketer who has done the job, ideally at a MarTech and/or B2B SaaS company that sells to Marketers. They know why Marketing teams buy the tools they buy, and they can speak the language of Marketers in an engaging, accessible, and human way, without dumbing it down.

  • Writing experience. Extremely strong writing skills across email, social, and web. You can emulate an expert-level voice that's funny, tactical, and never corporate.

  • Marketing fluency, not just interest. Direct professional experience as a content marketer, social marketer, or growth marketer. You already know the vocabulary, the tools, and the difference between a take Marketers share and one they scroll past.

  • Throughput under pressure. A track record of shipping high volumes of quality content on deadline, across multiple stakeholders at once.

  • Research and storytelling. You can go on fact-finding missions and pull out the most compelling story for a newsletter, a LinkedIn post, or a sponsored deep dive.

  • Organized, flexible, and detail-oriented. You keep track of multiple projects without missing deadlines or forgetting the little things.

  • Collaboration and communication. You work well on a team, stay curious, take feedback well, and follow up to push projects over the finish line.

Benefits:
  • Competitive pay (we don't pay based on location, we assign value to the role)

  • Equity in Workweek

  • Remote operations with the ability to work in the time zone of your choice (or work IRL in our Austin, TX office)

  • Unlimited PTO with a minimum of 3 days/quarter used

  • 100% health insurance coverage, 75% coverage for dependents, and $150/month towards an HSA (or $150/month health stipend if insurance not used)

  • 120 days of parental leave to use within one year of childbirth (available 12 months after your start date and only available every 365 days)

  • 401(k) plan with 3.5% company match

  • $500 one-time stipend for any home office needs used after the first 90 days

  • 5-week sabbatical after 4 years on staff

  • 2 volunteering days per year

  • 1x/year in-person team retreat

  • $100/month book stipend

Note: At Workweek, we’re passionate about building a diverse team. We care deeply about diversity, equality, and inclusion and strive to build a culture where everyone, from any background, feels included, supported, and free to be themselves.

If your experience is this close to what we’re looking for, please consider applying. Experience comes in many forms – skills are transferable, and passion goes a long way. We know that diversity makes for the best problem-solving and creative thinking, which is why we’re dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team and encourage everyone to apply

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
