Develops market sourcing strategies, manages advertising budgets, negotiates promotional expenses, coordinates truck show participation, and supports marketing materials. Oversees sourcing process improvements, coordinates IT support, and maintains relationships with truck and sleeper dealers. Requires contractor recruitment experience, sourcing and negotiation skills, and the ability to motivate team members.
While this position is Hybrid, qualified candidates must live within driving distance to Akron, Ohio.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Supervises and sets department goals to meet sourcing, retention, and forecast needs. Manages the individual performance of professional sourcing staff to regulate the flow of new trucks and increase independent contractor retention. Designs and implements market sourcing standards, guidelines, and strategies to meet specific segment requirements and improve competitive position in the expedited industry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervises, trains, communicates, and coaches sourcing specialists to ensure that sourcing targets are met. Assist sourcing specialists in finding new ways to gain prospective contractors or to better sell FedEx.
- Designs and implements market sourcing strategies using traditional marketing plan design and rollout practices. Allocate advertising dollars and negotiate said charges (i.e., truckers connection, independent contractor magazine, websites, etc). Determine the appropriate truck shows to attend and exhibit. Coordinate the presentation and layout of truck shows. Develop and assist in the design of marketing literature.
- Accountable for proper fleet size for Surface Expedite and White Glove divisions. Accountable for sales process improvements in the sourcing department. Coordinate IT resources to establish ongoing systems support of the processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with the various truck and sleeper dealers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- high school diploma
- 2+ years contractor recruitment experience

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay Range: $68,200.00- $87,5500.00 depending on years of experience.
