What's the Short Version?

The Contracts Specialist is part of the broader Global Logistics team and is responsible for drafting and advising on strategic transportation and logistics services. They work independently and communicate with a wide array of internal and external individuals, including principal business owners.


What Will You Be Doing?

  • Manage the request for quotation process from bid invitation to contract award for greater than 300 million in net transportation spend.
  • Provide expertise in all facets of Domestic and International freight movement including, International Ocean Services, Less than Truck Load, Intermodal, and Small Parcel.
  • Conduct pre bid meetings with internal departments and stakeholders.
  • Create evaluation criteria for post quote/bid process; review and analyze quotes and bids with team managers.
  • Collaborate with corporate attorneys to craft final agreements to ensure contract language is legal compliance and satisfactory to all parties.
  • Maintain records of all documents both physically and digitally.
  • Collaborate with Logistics teams that manage inbound and outbound transportation.
  • Responsible for conducting transportation-related analysis and research on current trends in global logistics industry.
  • Responsible for managing contract performance and ensuring that service level agreements are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

What Are We Looking For?

  • 4-6 years of contracts management, paralegal, or other comparable experience within a global logistics firm or company or equivalent education
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including drafting contractual language
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute to cross-functional teams

What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $32.56 - $43.27 on an hourly basis, depending on experience.


Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.


Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Hybrid: SanMar's Eastpointe office is located in Issaquah, WA in the Seattle metropolitan area. Employees are required to work in our offices Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional days may be added based on business needs. Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions. Quarterly travel may be required.
