Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost.

Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built.

Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen.

If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

The Role:

Hadrian is looking for a Controller to be a strategic leader within our Accounting organization, reporting to the VP, Accounting. This role is responsible for translating the organization's financial infrastructure strategy into a scaled, disciplined, day-to-day operation across multiple entities. You'll partner closely with the VP, Accounting to execute against the roadmap to build a best-in-class accounting function, while owning the team, the close, and the control environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, building the org structure and bench strength needed to support the company's growth across multiple entities.

  • Act as the VP, Accounting's key operating partner, translating financial infrastructure strategy into executable plans, and surfacing the technical accounting and process issues that need leadership attention.

  • Serve as the team's go-to authority on US GAAP researching and documenting positions on complex or judgment-heavy transactions, and applying company-wide policy (including ASC 606 and ASC 718) consistently across the business.

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidated financial reporting process, institutionalizing a disciplined flash and close cadence that scales with complexity.

  • Build out and run the internal control environment day-to-day control frameworks, risk/control matrices, segregation of duties, and testing in partnership with the VP, Accounting's overall controls design and SOX roadmap.

  • Identify and lead the automation and AI initiatives that modernize the close, controls, and reporting processes, making the accounting org faster and more scalable.

  • Lead the day-to-day configuration, integration, and data integrity of NetSuite (ERP) as Hadrian's system of record, in step with the broader finance systems strategy.

  • Manage and develop the cost accounting function, providing hands-on support and oversight as the team builds out standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost processes.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, managing the PCAOB-caliber annual audit process alongside the VP, Accounting.

  • Author accounting policies, documentation standards, and knowledge-sharing practices that the organization runs on as it scales.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10-15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role owning a team or function.

  • Active CPA required.

  • Big 4 public accounting experience, combined with progressive industry accounting/controllership experience at a scaling company.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic, hands-on leader — not just an operator of the accounting function.

  • Deep technical accounting expertise under US GAAP, with strong judgment on new, unusual, or high-stakes transactions.

  • Direct experience building and operating an internal controls / SOX program, ideally including a first-time SOX implementation.

  • A track record of driving transformation — using process redesign, automation, or AI to modernize how an accounting organization operates.

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.

  • Experience managing multi-entity consolidations and close processes.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a documentation-first, audit-ready mindset.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience in a high-growth, multi-entity or manufacturing environment.

  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or another asset- and inventory-heavy industry.

  • Experience supporting a company through IPO-readiness or a first SOX audit cycle.

Compensation

For this role, the target salary range is $275,000 - $310,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Benefits for Full-time Employees
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
    401k

  • Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.

  • Flexible vacation policy

  • Equity
