Why This Role Is Important to Arcadia

Arcadia is seeking a pragmatic, solutions-oriented Corporate Counsel to help scale the legal function for a high-growth healthtech/SaaS business. This role will be a key partner to the Growth organization and will own day-to-day customer contracting, enabling Arcadia to move quickly while maintaining an appropriate risk posture.

The Corporate Counsel will work closely with the General Counsel to support go-to-market and strategic initiatives, negotiate customer and partnership agreements, and help improve templates, playbooks, and contracting processes that reduce friction and increase consistency as the business grows.

What Success Looks Like
In 30 Days
  • Complete onboarding and build relationships with Growth, Product, Security/Privacy, Finance, and Procurement
  • Become fluent in Arcadia’s products, contracting lifecycle, and tools (including LinkSquares), including approval/escalation paths
  • Begin independently managing a contracting queue with clear escalation to the General Counsel on higher-risk issues
In 3 Months
  • Own customer contracting end-to-end for a meaningful volume of deals (with appropriate escalation)
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills across key terms (data use, privacy/security, IP, indemnity, limitation of liability, regulatory/compliance commitments)
  • Identify and implement improvements to templates, fallback positions, and playbooks that reduce cycle time and improve consistency
In 12 Months
  • Be recognized as a trusted advisor who provides practical, business-oriented counsel that helps the company close deals efficiently while managing risk
  • Partner with the General Counsel to reduce reliance on outside counsel for routine and repeatable matters
  • Help scale contracting operations through process improvements, training, and cross-functional enablement

What You'll Be Doing

  • Customer contracting ownership: Draft, review, and negotiate subscription/MSA agreements, BAAs as applicable, data use agreements, SOWs/work orders, amendments, and related documents
  • Strategic and channel/partner support: Negotiate partnership/channel agreements in coordination with the General Counsel
  • Complex vendor contracting: Lead negotiations for higher-risk vendor agreements, especially involving data, privacy/security, technology, or regulated workflows
  • Template/process improvement: Maintain and improve contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, and internal guidance; partner with stakeholders to drive adoption
  • Cross-functional counseling: Support GTM and product readiness efforts by spotting issues early and collaborating on workable solutions
  • Risk monitoring: Track legal/regulatory developments relevant to Arcadia and escalate emerging issues appropriately

What You'll Bring

  • J.D. and active bar membership (in good standing) in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Typically, 7–12+ years of relevant legal experience (law firm and/or in-house), with deep commercial contracting experience
  • Comfort negotiating SaaS and data-driven agreements; health tech and privacy/security experience strongly preferred
  • Strong judgment and communication—able to present risk clearly with practical options
  • A process-oriented mindset and desire to build scalable systems
  • Collaborative, high-integrity approach with good instincts for escalation

What You'll Get

  • Comprehensive compensation packages and inclusive health and wellness benefits
  • Be a part of a mission driven company that is transforming the healthcare industry by changing the way patients receive care
  • A flexible, remote friendly company with personality and heart
  • Employee driven programs and initiatives for personal and professional development
  • Become a member of the talented, energized, diverse and purpose-driven Arcadian Community

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
