Description and Requirements
Intern Responsibilities:
The Corporate Real Estate Analyst Internship Program provides participants broad exposure to MetLife's global workplace and real estate and corporate services program. The analyst will evaluate a small project and the various aspects of the end-to-end real estate lifecycle, including location strategy, real estate markets and transactions, workplace design, and project management.
In this role the analyst will:

  • Recommend embedding AI and sustainability in each lifecycle phase
  • Interact with internal and external teams, including the business (customer), futurists, strategists, brokers, lawyers, architects, construction managers, engineers, technologists, and project managers.
  • Research the future of work and workplace best practices and provide Gen Z's perspective to inform future MetLife projects and design.
  • Participate in workplace tours with outside companies throughout New York City to see leading practices in workplace design, workplace experience, and sustainability.
  • Develop various data, technical, and soft skills, including creativity and analytical thinking. They can network with professionals and fully immerse themselves in the workplace and real estate culture.


Desired Skills for this role:

  • Interest in the workplace and real estate, with some real estate finance coursework, preferred, and excellent data, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.


Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a higher education institution and actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with expected graduation in 2026 or 2027 with a strong academic record.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require MetLife sponsorship or support for a work permit or visa in any capacity now or in the future.
  • Preferred Major: Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field.


This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, based out of our 200 Park Avenue Headquarters in NYC.
About the MetLife Team: This role is within the Global Technology Organization (GTO) on the Corporate Real Estate and Services Team. The Corporate Real Estate and Services team serves as the Center of Enablement for real estate transactions, workplace operations, and project management. They manage aspects of real estate throughout its lifecycle, from site selection and real estate transactions to workplace strategy and design and operations for 1,000+ locations.
