Position Summary
As the Creative Director for Yahoo Search and Mail brands, you will shape the creative vision and drive marketing strategies that elevate this essential product. Reporting to the Head of Marketing Studio, you’ll partner closely with the Yahoo Search and Mail teams at every phase—from strategic planning and briefing to execution of fully integrated campaigns.

You’re a player-coach: inspiring your team while rolling up your sleeves when needed. You know great creative when you see it, and you understand how to turn ideas into work that feels fresh, impactful, and on-brand. Your experience spans multi-channel campaigns, including video and upper-funnel activations, and you’re skilled at guiding work from concept to execution.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Leadership: Lead and inspire the team to develop bold, innovative campaigns across Yahoo’s Search and Mail portfolios. Elevate work from good to exceptional through your taste, judgment, and feedback, while balancing vision with precision—ensuring every touchpoint, from copy to design to execution, meets the highest standards.

  • Campaign Development: Lead the conception and execution of multi-channel campaigns, including digital display, social, email marketing, and video storytelling.

  • Creative Brief Development: Craft and refine briefs that set clear objectives, inspire bold ideas, and provide actionable direction.

  • Brand Alignment: Oversee all creative outputs to ensure they meet the brand's standards, visual storytelling excellence, and audience engagement goals.

  • Agency & Partner Management: Build strong partnerships with agency teams, ensuring work exceeds expectations and aligns with strategic goals.

  • Trend Monitoring & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative innovations to keep campaigns fresh, relevant, and competitive.
     

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of creative leadership experience, ideally within consumer tech, digital media, or advertising; experience with a mail or search client is a plus.

  • Portfolio demonstrating exceptional taste, strong visual storytelling, and multi-channel campaign experience.

  • Deep understanding of full-funnel marketing strategies and the ability to craft narratives that engage broad audiences.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external agency partners.

  • Skilled at translating strategic goals into bold, compelling creative work.

  • Proficiency with design and collaboration tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.).

  • Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate creative concepts.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage insights to guide creative decisions.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Skilled at building deep partnerships across the business and contributing to strategic planning efforts.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, Advertising, or a related field.

The compensation for this position ranges from $129,210.00 - $281,305.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
