About Chief Detective

Chief Detective is a performance marketing agency helping fast-growing startups and established retail brands scale revenue and acquisition through paid digital channels. Recognized as a top agency on Meta, we’re expanding rapidly across platforms including TikTok, Google, and CTV.

We specialize in e-commerce and partner with leading direct-to-consumer brands in apparel, beauty, and lifestyle. Our clients include Rag & Bone, Ursa Major, Buck Mason, Frank & Eileen, and TWP.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Creative Strategist to join our growing team. This role is built for someone who is equal parts data-driven and creatively curious—someone who loves uncovering patterns in performance data, documenting winning themes, and translating them into actionable insights for creative and client teams. You’ll be at the center of creative strategy, testing, and execution across paid social (Meta, TikTok, YouTube), Google, CTV, and beyond. You understand the importance of content and can clearly map out content needs to craft winning ads.

You’ll be hands-on with analyzing winning themes and translating them into strategic roadmaps to replicate, iterate, and amplify success. You’ll partner closely with your counterpart on the Growth Marketing team, your production team, client contacts, and UGC creators to ensure every ad we launch has a clear objective, is rooted in a sharp insight, and delivers the performance we are known for.

What You’ll Do:

  • Content Planning: You will create a roadmap of content needs to feed your creative strategy, and partner with your client contacts to get buy in and timely delivery
  • Performance Analysis: Dig into paid media data to analyze creative performance, identifying commonalities between winning and losing ads, and translating results into clear, actionable learnings and next steps.
  • Creative Testing: Partner with Growth Marketers to structure creative tests—defining objectives, hypotheses, and success metrics while building on insights to guide future concepts.
  • Creative Research: Stay up-to-date with trends in the space, constantly identifying formats, messages, content types and more that will help drive successful creative strategies for your clients.
  • UGC Briefing & Remote Direction: Support your clients with identifying and casting the right UGC talent and then writing briefs outlining key messaging beats, content delivery needs, and hooks; remote direct shoots as needed.
  • Execution & Ownership: Manage follow through on creative strategies, ensuring clients are aware of the ‘return on content’ and the subsequent learnings, performance, and iterative next steps.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Growth, Production, and Client teams—acting as the bridge between data-driven insights and creative execution.
  • Channel Breadth: Leverage your creative learnings to apply across Meta, TikTok, Google, and CTV—developing expertise in platform best practices and emerging trends.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3–5 years of experience in performance marketing, creative strategy, public relations, marketing or a related role.
  • Impeccable attention to detail with strong follow through and execution; flawless grammar and spelling
  • Positive attitude, collaborative and hard working. You’re joining a high performing team who shares the wins and celebrates together.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights and recommendations.
  • A curious, performance-driven mindset—hungry for wins, driven by growth.
  • An eye for design and storytelling, with a pulse on creative trends specifically among health/wellness clients. Graphic design background a plus.
  • Strong written communication and briefing skills—able to clearly state test objectives and give direction to creative partners.
  • Organized and proactive, with experience managing trackers and ensuring deliverables move on schedule.
  • Eager to learn channel best practices across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google, and CTV.

Why Join Chief Detective?

  • Be at the forefront of digital marketing
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Partner with recognized fast-growing fashion and beauty brands
  • Be part of a team that blends analytical rigor with creative experimentation
  • Work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your insights directly drive performance
  • Remote-first flexibility with a culture that values curiosity, growth, and attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits:

  • This position has an approved base compensation range of $75,000 to $85,000
  • A comprehensive benefits package that includes group medical, dental, and vision coverage; short and long-term disability; life insurance; 401(k) eligibility after one year of service with matching contributions; paid time off; sick leave; and an Employee Assistance Program, and more.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
