The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for providing professional, friendly, and efficient service to customers through phone, email, chat, or in-person communication. The CSR assists customers with questions, orders, account information, complaints, returns, and general service requests while ensuring a positive customer experience.
The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, professional, and able to communicate clearly while handling multiple customer interactions and tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Answer customer inquiries by phone, email, chat, or other communication channels.
Provide accurate information about products, services, orders, accounts, policies, and procedures.
Listen carefully to customer concerns and determine appropriate solutions.
Resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
Process customer orders, returns, exchanges, payments, cancellations, and service requests as applicable.
Enter and update customer information accurately in company systems.
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions.
Follow up with customers regarding unresolved issues, orders, or requests.
Escalate complex or sensitive issues to supervisors or appropriate departments.
Coordinate with sales, billing, shipping, technical support, and other departments to resolve customer concerns.
Monitor customer accounts and ensure information is current and accurate.
Meet established customer service, quality, productivity, and response-time standards.
Protect customer privacy and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Follow company policies, procedures, and customer service guidelines.
Identify recurring customer issues and communicate trends to management.
Assist with administrative and clerical duties as needed.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous customer service, call center, retail, office, or administrative experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
Professional and friendly telephone manner.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Good computer and keyboarding skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult customers.

Technical Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Ability to learn customer relationship management (CRM) and customer service software.
Experience with email, chat, and telephone systems.

Ability to navigate multiple computer applications while assisting customers.
Familiarity with order-processing, billing, scheduling, or ticketing systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
1–2 years of customer service or call-center experience.
Experience using CRM or customer-support platforms.
Experience handling high-volume customer inquiries.
Experience processing orders, payments, refunds, or account changes.
Bilingual or multilingual communication skills, where applicable.
Experience in the company's specific industry.
