The Role

Proofpoint is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and technically savvy OEM Customer Success Manager (CSM) to drive success across our OEM customer base.

This is a post-sales, customer-centric role focused on ensuring customers realize maximum value from Proofpoint’s threat intelligence and data services. Unlike traditional deployments, OEM customers integrate Proofpoint data directly into their own products and platforms. As such, this role requires a strong ability to engage with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to drive deeper adoption, integration maturity, and long-term growth. This is a brand new role to Proofpoint with significant opportunity to help set our strategy and build processes to support our OEM business.

The OEM CSM will act as a trusted advisor, helping customers operationalize Proofpoint data within their offerings, expand use cases, and maximize the business impact of their investment.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Conduct regular business reviews and health checks focused on adoption, performance, and value realization

Strategic Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with product managers, engineering teams, and business leaders within customer organizations
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on how to best leverage Proofpoint’s threat intelligence to enhance customer offerings
  • Help customers translate data capabilities into differentiated product features and market value

Growth & Retention

  • Identify expansion opportunities through new use cases, additional data feeds, or increased scale of integration
  • Proactively manage account health, identifying risks and leading mitigation strategies
  • Partner with Sales on renewals, upsell, and long-term account growth

Voice of the Customer

  • Act as the internal advocate for OEM customers, providing structured feedback to Product Management and Engineering
  • Identify trends across customers to influence roadmap, packaging, and delivery of Proofpoint data services

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Support, and Threat Intelligence teams to drive customer success outcomes
  • Coordinate resources to resolve technical challenges, accelerate integrations, and improve time-to-value

What You Bring to the Team

  •  8 + years of experience in Customer Success, Technical Account Management, Product-facing roles, or similar
  • Experience working with APIs, data products, threat intelligence, or platform integrations
  • Strong ability to engage with product managers and technical stakeholders, translating technical capabilities into business value
  • Proven track record of driving customer adoption, retention, and expansion
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret usage data and derive actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executive-level engagement
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or data-as-a-service (DaaS) environments
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycles and SaaS/platform integrations
  • Experience working with OEM or embedded technology partnerships

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Customers successfully embed and expand Proofpoint data across their products

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
