Sally’s mission is to be the most trusted vehicle and service provider for professional drivers. We operate a large fleet of vehicles that we provide to rideshare, last mile, and taxi drivers on a flexible basis. We invest heavily in our technology and our people to deliver best-in-class service to our customers.

At Sally, we don’t just rent cars—we attract and retain quality drivers, manage driver performance, mitigate fleet risk, and optimize platform efficiency. We're looking for a data-driven operator to lead the development of analytics tools and models, and to create informed recommendations that help us:

  • Attract and retain top-performing drivers
  • Identify and reduce operational risk
  • Improve the health and efficiency of our fleet

You'll work cross-functionally with Customer Experience, Operations, and Product teams to turn complex, real-world data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for our business. This includes analyzing customer feedback, interaction data, payments, maintenance records, telematics, product usage, and fleet operations.

What You’ll Work On
  • Build an understanding of what makes drivers stay with our business, and what causes them to leave
  • Score and grade drivers based on payment behavior, vehicle usage, and incident history
  • Build models that flag early signs of churn, damage risk, or default
  • Identify patterns in vehicle maintenance and downtime to optimize fleet allocation and resale
  • Help define and automate policies that offer better pricing, rewards, or removal based on driver performance
  • Build and roll out dashboards and alerting tools that ops teams actually use to improve their operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience turning messy datasets into clean decisions
  • Experience running customer surveys
  • Track record of building and deploying business-impact tools, not just dashboards
  • Ability to distill complex models into actionable recommendations
  • Sharp business sense—can think in margin, lifetime value, and cost per issue
Bonus Points
  • The following languages are a plus. A lot of data will have to be queried using the following languages:
    • Python
    • KQL (Keyword Query Language)
    • ES|QL (Elasticsearch Query Language)
  • Experience with lending, insurance, or asset-based businesses
  • Familiarity with telematics, vehicle data, or platform-based driver ratings
  • You’ve built driver or customer tiering systems before
  • Experience running customer interviews
Benefits
  • PTO
  • Medical, dental, and vision contribution plans
  • 401k

Compensation Range: $125,000 - 155,000

*Offer amounts within our ranges are based on skills, experience, relevant education or training, and other job-related factors. At Sally, we believe in making thoughtful decisions around compensation to ensure the growth and development of our employees. We want you to grow with us as our company grows!

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
