As a Senior Associate in Payments Operations Strategy, Innovation & Governance — Data Insights & Analytic Solutions, you own the production delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of operational reporting and analytics used to manage Payments Operations performance and risk. You keep dashboards, scorecards, and metrics accurate and controlled through strong data quality checks, monitoring, documentation, and access controls. You deliver scheduled reporting and time-sensitive ad hoc analysis aligned to service level agreements, while handling business-as-usual support and break-fix incidents with disciplined triage and communication. You work with partners across Operations, Technology, and Data to resolve data issues, reduce manual effort, and improve resilience through automation.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide business-as-usual support and break-fix coverage, including incident triage, root-cause coordination, and timely escalation.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and performance reporting that leaders use to run the business.
  • Develop and optimize queries and data transformations to produce consistent, reconciled metrics across multiple data sources.
  • Validate data quality through controls, reconciliations, and automated checks to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Monitor reporting pipelines and key metrics to detect failures, anomalies, and emerging risks early.
  • Document metric definitions, assumptions, data lineage, and run procedures to support governance and repeatability.
  • Manage intake and prioritization of ad hoc requests, balancing responsiveness with production stability.
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses within agreed timelines, clearly communicating assumptions, impacts, and status.
  • Partner with global stakeholders to align on reporting requirements, definitions, and success measures.
  • Automate repeatable reporting and support activities to reduce manual effort and improve timeliness and resilience.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, analytical, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Five years of experience delivering operational reporting and analytics in a production environment.
  • Five years of experience writing structured query language (SQL) for relational databases, including Oracle.
  • Five years of experience building dashboards and reports using business intelligence and analytics tools (for example, Tableau and Alteryx).
  • Experience operating in a regulated, control-oriented environment with strong attention to accuracy, auditability, and access controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to define metrics (including reconciliations and definitions) and translate business questions into reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing incident-driven work (triage, break-fix, prioritization, escalation) while meeting delivery commitments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong time management skills, including managing multiple concurrent deliverables with global stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience supporting Payments Operations (or adjacent operations functions) with high-volume reporting and production support expectations.
  • Experience with modern data platforms and analytics engineering workflows (for example, Databricks and Snowflake).
  • Experience using Python for analytics automation or operational utilities.
  • Familiarity with workflow governance artifacts (standard operating procedures, runbooks, inventories, and control checklists).
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives that measurably reduce manual effort and defects.
  • Familiarity with Jira for tracking intake, incidents, and delivery.
  • Familiarity with responsible use of generative artificial intelligence concepts in controlled environments (for example, prompt design and evaluation).

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
