Job Description

Role: Data Architect- Databricks, ADF

Duration: 2 years

Location: Remote

About the Role:

 

Seeking a highly skilled Data Architect with strong hands-on experience in Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF), combined with deep domain knowledge in the insurance industry—specifically across Guidewire Policy, Billing, and Claims systems. This role requires leadership in client-facing engagements and a proven background with top-tier consulting firms such as Accenture, Deloitte, or Capgemini.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable and secure data architecture solutions using Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
  • Lead end-to-end data architecture strategies for insurance clients, with a strong focus on Guidewire platforms (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter).
  • Engage directly with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data architecture solutions.
  • Lead and manage data transformation and modernization programs across the insurance value chain.
  • Provide architectural oversight and mentorship to development teams working on Azure cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, data engineers, and BI developers to ensure architectural alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of overall experience in data architecture, with at least 3+ years in Azure cloud platforms.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in Databricks and ADF, with strong proficiency in building ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of insurance business processes, especially:

    Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter data models.

  • Experience in client-facing leadership roles; ability to manage stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Consulting background with firms such as Accenture, Deloitte, or Capgemini (preferred or required).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Azure Synapse, Delta Lake, Power BI, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks and tools like Azure Purview.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Industry certifications in Azure or Databricks are a plus
