Position Summary:
Perforce is searching for a detail-oriented and proactive Data Steward to ensure the quality, integrity, and usability of our organizational data. In this role, you will be responsible for managing data governance processes, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enforce data standards and policies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for driving data consistency and excellence across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain data quality across systems and datasets.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, processes and standards.
- Establish and enforce best practices on data sources of truth for consistency and scalability.
- Collaborate with data owners, business users and team members to define and implement data definitions, classifications and business rules.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, including duplicate, missing or inconsistent data.
- Perform root cause analysis of data issues and drive efforts to improve and prevent such issues in the future.
- Execute routine and ad hoc data imports/deletions/updates to support business initiatives.
- Advise on data normalization and transformation between business lines and during acquisition and merger integrations.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to automate the detection of data integrity issues and develops/maintains an alerting system to ensure timely awareness and resolution.
- Create and deliver reports or dashboards related to data quality metrics and governance activities.
- Educate and support business users on data standards and best practices.
- Understand, document and advise on data flows between our business critical systems for consistency and cohesiveness across our business audiences.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a data steward, data management, or data governance role
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices
- Strong background in understanding Go-to-Market teams data, software industry experience is a plus
- Proficiency with data management tools and technologies
- Experience with databases, data warehouses and SQL
- Experience with reporting and data structures in Salesforce and Microsoft PowerBI (experience with Microsoft Fabrics is a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical and business teams
