Job Description

The Demand Forecaster is a dynamic role within the replenishment business in charge of creating gross demand sales plans and managing the productivity of a department’s replenishment assortment.  The Demand Forecaster collaborates with business partners to achieve financial objectives, maintain in stock targets and running efficient inventory. As a member of the team, the Demand Forecaster shares accountability to meet and exceed departmental sales volume and supporting Merchandise Margin.
 

A day in the life…

  • Lead forecast application education, maintenance and evolution.
  • Maintain attributes and default settings in forecasting application.
  • Apply an understanding of the needs, wants and expectations of the customer to drive the replenishment merchandising strategy.
  • Collaborate with merchant partners to create optimal demand forecasts that maximize results through replenishment and align with the merchandise strategy.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the merchant strategy, product expectations and order generation process to ensure order results align with the buyer’s expected outcomes.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to drive replenishment and improve item performance.
  • Perform analysis and influence decision-making to improve replenishment sales and inventory results that complement the total assortment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applicable systems, including replenishment, item planning, reporting and division-specific tools.

You own this if you have…

  • Experience with retail forecasting tools and methods. Oracle merchandising foundation experience and/or Retail Demand Forecast (RDF) experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in retail merchandise Planning and Analysis, Inventory Management or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Statistics, Management Information Systems or related field preferred. 
  • Experience supporting a high sales volume category (high SKU count, heavy seasonality, high revenue ($20M+)) preferred.
  • Basic statistics proficiency.
  • Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with customers and coworkers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite required.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $92,000 - $155,000 AnnuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
