At Viral Nation, we specialize in building social-first ecosystems for brands to connect with the modern consumer journey. Our integrated solutions align strategy, talent, media, and technology with culturally relevant creativity to scale the world’s fastest-growing digital brands. Viral Nation offers a fluid, creative, and growth-oriented environment that will support your ambitions to apply your talents in an open, collaborative, and fast-paced culture. Our ability to stay at the forefront of the industry has fuelled our success and will guide us in paving the path forward. We’re driven to push boundaries and think beyond today to deliver strategies, and we’re just getting started.

While we continuously exceed our goals, we need your help – our success is only as great as our people. Strong performance leads to high expectations, and we must keep raising the bar!

In the fast-paced world of social media, the first impression isn't just a slide deck—it’s a vision of the future. As the Design Director of Pre-Sale & Growth, you will be the creative architect behind our agency’s most ambitious pitches and client growth opportunities. This is a high-stakes, high-reward role where you will bridge the gap between abstract business goals and breathtaking visual storytelling.

You are not just a designer; you are closer. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Client Success and Strategy teams to craft the visual identities, innovative concepts, and strategic narratives that win with the world's largest brands. Your goal is to make the agency’s value proposition undeniable in the pursuit of business growth.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Visionary Creative Leadership:
    • Develop innovative design languages and visual frameworks that transform integrated strategies, dense data and creative ideas into persuasive proposals and pitch assets that compel enterprise-level stakeholders.
    • Produce high-fidelity mockups, future-state visualizations, interactive prototypes, and immersive storytelling assets that act as the centerpieces of proposals and pitch assets— enabling clients to see their brand living and breathing within our agency’s ecosystem.
  • Proposal Engineering and Storytelling
    • Oversee the structural design of complex enterprise proposals and pitch assets, ensuring the visual hierarchy mirrors the strategic priority.
    • Craft proposals and pitch assets to maximize order, pacing, rhythm, and emotional peak-end moments to ensure maximum stakeholder retention.
  • Stakeholder-Centric Visual Design:
    • Tailor the visual language of proposals and pitch assets to the specific psychological profiles of stakeholders—from the ROI-focused CFO to the brand-obsessed CMO—ensuring every slide addresses a specific business pain point or aspiration.
    • Use advanced visual storytelling to create a sense of inevitability—making it clear that our agency is the only partner capable of executing the client’s vision at a global scale.
  • AI-Enablement
    • Enlist cutting-edge AI tools and agents within workflows to drive efficiency, innovation and visualization expansion.
  • Scalable Framework Development:
    • Implement modular design systems for the Strategy, Sales and Client Service teams that allow for rapid, high-quality output without sacrificing the "bespoke" feel required for Tier-1 brand acquisition and growth.

Mentorship and Team Development

    • Lead, mentor, and inspire an evolving team of designers and motion artists, fostering an environment of "strategic creativity.”
    • Partner with agency Leadership to attract top Design talent and drive team growth in alignment with business growth.

What You'll Need To Have:

  • 7+ years in design leadership, preferably within a fast-paced agency environment with a heavy focus on New Business/Pitches.
  • A proven track record of winning and expanding major accounts through exceptional design strategy and visual storytelling.
  • Expert-level command of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and presentation software (Keynote/Google Slides). Knowledge of motion design and AI-driven creative tools is a significant plus.
  • Experience partnering with and managing multidisciplinary teams and navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Deep understanding of brand positioning, consumer psychology, and social media marketing trends.
Compensation Philosophy:

At Viral Nation, compensation is structured, performance-led, and market-aligned. Pay decisions are intentional, based on role requirements, performance, and market alignment by country, and are set to maintain internal pay equity across comparable roles and levels.

Compensation progression is tied to demonstrated performance, expanded scope, and sustained contribution over time, not tenure alone. Employee compensation is reviewed regularly through formal performance reviews and check-ins to ensure alignment with role expectations and impact.

AI in Recruitment:

Viral Nation does not use AI-enabled tools to screen, assess, rank, or select candidates – our hiring teams make all hiring decisions. AI note-taking tools may be used during interviews.

DEI Commitment:

Viral Nation is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in our agency. Viral Nation welcomes applications from people with visible and non-visible disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the recruiting and selection process.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
