The Design Director, Women’s — Caslon, Voyelle & Chelsea 28, will play a pivotal role at this moment, setting the creative vision and shaping the future of three distinct brands as they evolve in relevance, scale, and influence.
This role is designed for a seasoned design leader with a strong point of view and commercial instinct. Someone who can balance creativity with discipline and bring brands to life in ways that resonate deeply with today’s customer. You will define brand DNA, lead inspired design teams, and partner closely across merchandising, planning and production to translate vision into performance. This is an opportunity to influence not just seasonal products, but how design shows up as a strategic driver within Nordstrom Made.

The Design Director will be a builder, a leader, and a creative catalyst during a defining moment for the business.
The role is a hybrid position based in Seattle, reporting directly to the VP, Design - NPG.
A Day in the Life…
- Define and lead the creative vision and brand DNA for Caslon, Voyelle, and Chelsea 28, ensuring each brand has a clear, differentiated point of view while aligning to the broader Nordstrom Made strategy.
- Inspire, mentor, and develop a high‑performing design organization, setting clear expectations for excellence, accountability, and growth across talent at all levels.
- Establish seasonal creative direction that is customer‑led, culturally relevant, and commercially grounded, translated through clear concepts, line vision, and compelling visual storytelling.
- Stay deeply connected to the market and customer, leveraging research, trend analysis, and insights across fashion, culture, and adjacent industries to inform brand evolution and design decisions.
- Partner closely with merchandising, planning, production, technology, and marketing to ensure creative vision is delivered with discipline, supporting line architecture, financial targets, and operational execution.
- Lead seasonal milestone reviews and presentations with clarity and confidence, influencing stakeholders through strong narrative, visual direction, and data‑informed perspective.
- Build and sustain strong cross‑functional relationships, operating as a trusted creative and strategic partner across Nordstrom Made and the enterprise.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement, reinforcing high standards while creating space for experimentation, learning, and evolution as the brands scale.
You Own This if You Have…
10–15 years of experience leading fashion design teams, with a proven ability to build, scale, and develop high‑performing creative organizations.
Demonstrated success overseeing multiple brands or product categories simultaneously, balancing distinct brand identities with shared goals and resources.
A strong, differentiated creative point of view, paired with an exceptional eye for brand, trend, and customer relevance.
Deep commercial and business acumen, with the ability to translate creative vision into assortments that perform against financial and strategic objectives.
Strong digital fluency and presentation capability, producing focused, visually compelling decks and seasonal storytelling tools that influence decision‑making.
A collaborative, enterprise‑minded leadership style, grounded in trust, accountability, and cross‑functional partnership.
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
