As our firm continues to grow, we continue to be on the lookout for the next great designer; you. We are currently seeking a Landscape Architect Designer to join us in our Alexandria office.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Design Studio to develop and advance creative design concepts for clients and projects.
  • Prepare digital and hand drawings as needed to communicate master plan, design elements, and features.
  • Support public outreach and collaboration efforts as required by project assignments.
  • Conduct research and prepare site reviews and analyses.
  • Prepare CAD documentation, project concept design packages, and construction documentation and permit drawing sets.
  • Develop and demonstrate accuracy in drawing sets.
  • Produce material specifications for a construction drawing set.
  • Assist in editing technical written specifications.
  • Build knowledge around plant materials.
  • Understand how to properly specify plant materials for planting schedules.
  • Take initiative to explore current graphic standards and building construction methods.
  • Build up knowledge of construction and best practices.
  • Participate in construction phase services activities.
  • Collaborate with internal design team including civil engineers, planners, and client’s consultant teams.
  • Represent LandDesign in design team meetings and speak confidently to project understanding.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of daily processes and practices in support of project efficiency.
  • Receives general instructions on routine tasks, and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
  • Actively participate in training Designer I and interns.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Experience interpreting hand drawn plans.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite and modeling programs such as Sketch-Up, Lumion etc.
