Job Description

Role Summary

As Developer Relations Manager at Lens, you will be the bridge between our Kubernetes engineering community and the Lens product team. You’ll inspire and grow a passionate developer community, create technical content, represent Lens at conferences and online, and help users get the most out of their experience. Your work will amplify Lens adoption, build trust with practitioners, and drive feedback into product development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement

    • Foster an inclusive, active community of Lens users through forums, Discord, GitHub, and social platforms

    • Identify, nurture, and collaborate with Lens Champions and power users

    • Organize and participate in meetups, webinars, and community events

  • Content Creation

    • Produce blogs, demos, tutorials, and videos showcasing Lens use cases and best practices

    • Develop example Kubernetes projects and templates to help users start fast

    • Create and maintain technical documentation in partnership with product and engineering

  • Evangelism & Developer Advocacy

    • Represent Lens at conferences, hackathons, and industry events (e.g., KubeCon, Microsoft Build)

    • Deliver talks, workshops, and live demos

    • Serve as the voice of the user internally, collecting feedback and advocating for improvements

  • Collaboration & Feedback Loop

    • Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to surface user pain points

    • Help shape roadmap priorities with real-world developer insight

    • Contribute to onboarding experiences and in-product education initiatives

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Developer Relations, Advocacy, or Community Management

  • Strong background in Kubernetes, DevOps, or Cloud Native tools

  • Public speaking experience and comfort presenting to technical audiences

  • Excellent writing skills with a portfolio of blog posts, videos, or tutorials

  • Ability to code and build sample projects using Lens and Kubernetes

  • Experience growing open-source or technical communities is a strong plus

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with content performance metrics and developer-focused KPIs

  • Familiarity with GitHub, Discord, YouTube, and community platforms

  • Prior experience with freemium developer products or PLG motion
