Position Summary

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our growing Digital Solutions team. This role supports both Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and eCommerce-based environments for enterprise clients. You’ll be responsible for implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and guiding clients and internal teams on industry best practices.

This role requires hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, as you will be managing containerized applications across complex deployment environments. You should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, leading technical conversations, and managing infrastructure for high-profile, complex digital solutions. Strong communication, systems thinking, and a deep passion for automation are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and environment automation using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, and Ansible.

  • Build and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes across development, staging, and production environments.

  • Configure and monitor environments for AEM and eCommerce platforms (PHP-based).

  • Guide clients in adopting best practices for infrastructure, deployment, and performance optimization.

  • Support distributed development teams with DevOps tooling and process improvements.

  • Lead infrastructure builds for high-availability production environments using AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Maintain web servers (Apache, NGINX), application runtimes (Java, PHP-FPM), and databases (MariaDB, Redis).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.

  • Author and maintain clear documentation, including disaster recovery and infrastructure diagrams.

  • Evaluate internal systems for automation opportunities and implement improvements.

  • Participate in technical discussions and support client deployments, configuration, and monitoring.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 3–5 years of DevOps engineering experience, preferably in digital or consulting environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.

  • Expertise in infrastructure automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet.

  • Strong Linux/Unix systems administration experience.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, TeamCity, or Bamboo.

  • Scripting proficiency: Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl.

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (v6.3+) and Dispatcher setup in production.

  • Familiarity with SDLC management systems, monitoring tools (Splunk, AppDynamics), and code quality frameworks.

  • Understanding of load-balanced and clustered infrastructure environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting AEMaaCS, AMS, Adobe I/O, Brand Portal, or Adobe Marketing Cloud.

  • Exposure to PHP-based commerce platforms and frameworks.

  • Experience managing infrastructure supporting high-traffic e-commerce or content-driven websites.

  • Experience with Apache HTTPD configuration (vhosts, caching, SSL).

  • Familiarity with virtualization tools (VMware, Vagrant).

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Active security clearance is a plus.

Travel Requirements

This position may require occasional travel upon request.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
