As a DevOps Engineer, a typical day might include:

  • Designing, implementing, securing, and supporting cloud native and on-prem infrastructure.

  • Automating infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and performing capacity planning.

  • Collaborating with developers in IS and R&D to support SEL’s mission of making electric power safer, more reliable, and more economical.

  • Identifying and mitigating risks in deployment and operational environments.

  • Creating and maintaining clear, thorough documentation for systems and processes.

  • Managing and executing infrastructure-related projects.

This job might be for you if you:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Have 2+ years of experience in DevOps, system administration, or a related technical role.

  • Are proficient with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Git, and Terraform or similar.

  • Have experience automating infrastructure and configuration management.

  • Embrace dynamic, fast-paced environments and adapt well to rapid change.

  • Have a desire for life-long learning to stay current with evolving technologies.

  • Can participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.

  • Practice absolute confidentiality and unquestionable ethics.

  • Have excellent customer service commitment.

  • Possess strong writing, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Technical background and knowledge of manufacturing and/or engineering processes.

Pay Range Data

Associate DevOps Engineer: $84,240 - $124,461, DevOps Engineer $97,740 - $144,460 per year. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
