RP is seeking a DevOps Lead to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role requires a highly skilled engineer with leadership experience who can guide teams in implementing and improving DevOps practices. The DevOps Lead will play a critical role in ensuring stable and efficient CI/CD pipelines, promoting automation, and driving collaboration between development, operations, and security teams.

This position is contingent upon the contract being awarded to RP Professional Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor DevOps engineers to implement best practices for automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure management.
  • Design, develop, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to support software deployment and integration.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure deployment, configuration, and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Develop and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards across development environments.
  • Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define DevOps strategies that align with mission objectives.
  • Guide Agile development practices, ensuring seamless integration of DevOps solutions into sprint cycles.
  • Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex deployment and system issues.
Requirements
  • Strong expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure Devops, or Gitlab CI/CD.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Advanced proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, security frameworks, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to undergo and pass a Public Trust clearance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or Automation role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven track record of implementing CI/CD pipelines and managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting data analytics platforms or IT infrastructure in a government or enterprise environment.
  • DevOps certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Associate, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and IT service management practices.

Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000

The salary range for this role considers a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, skill sets, equity, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
