Digital Assets - Director

We are seeking a Director to lead complex accounting advisory engagements for digital asset companies across a variety of growth stages, including venture-backed, high-growth, pre-IPO, and public companies. Directors serve as trusted advisors to executive stakeholders, oversee large-scale client engagements, develop long-term client relationships, drive business development, and help shape the continued growth of the Digital Assets practice.
What you might expect:
- Serve as the engagement leader for complex digital asset accounting advisory engagements, including audit readiness, technical accounting, finance transformation, IPO readiness, SEC reporting, and transaction support.
- Partner with CFOs, Controllers, Chief Accounting Officers, executive leadership, and external auditors to advise on complex digital asset accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance challenges.
- Lead engagements involving crypto trading activity, fragmented wallet and exchange data, digital asset reconciliations, accounting remediation, and finance function transformation.
- Advise clients on standing up finance functions, rebuilding accounting records, implementing scalable close and reporting processes, and establishing audit-ready documentation.
- Oversee financial and regulatory reporting deliverables, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, S-4, and audit support activities.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across finance, operations, technology, legal, tax, and external audit to deliver successful client outcomes.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and implementation of scalable accounting, reporting, and internal control processes.
- Drive business development through proposal leadership, client expansion opportunities, strategic account management, networking, thought leadership, and market-facing activities.
- Mentor Senior Managers and Managers while contributing to recruiting, performance management, methodology development, and overall practice growth.
What you must have:
- 10+ years of experience in Big 4 audit, accounting advisory, capital markets advisory, transaction advisory, and/or corporate accounting and finance, including a minimum of 2 years of experience at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, or PwC).
- Experience leading complex accounting advisory engagements involving audit readiness, technical accounting, finance transformation, IPO readiness, SEC reporting, transaction support, and/or public company reporting.
- Experience serving as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders while leading multiple client engagements within a consulting, advisory, or public accounting environment.

- Experience advising clients on digital asset accounting, crypto transaction accounting, wallet and exchange reconciliations, accounting remediation, or finance function build-outs.
- Experience leading SEC reporting engagements, IPO readiness, capital markets transactions, audit coordination, or public company financial reporting.
- Experience applying U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting guidance related to complex transactions and emerging business models.
- Experience leading finance transformation initiatives, accounting process improvements, ERP implementations, or operational accounting transformations.
- Experience building executive client relationships while driving business development, proposal leadership, strategic account management, or practice growth.
- Experience mentoring Senior Managers and Managers while contributing to recruiting, performance management, methodology development, and leadership development.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across accounting, finance, operations, technology, tax, legal, and external audit.
Nice to have:
- CPA license.
- Experience with digital asset accounting platforms, blockchain analytics tools, ERP systems, or financial reporting technologies.
- Experience supporting publicly traded digital asset companies or companies preparing for IPO.
- Experience with emerging regulatory guidance impacting digital assets and cryptocurrency accounting.
