What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Director of Business Analysis and Insights to oversee our decision support function and deliver strategic, data-driven insights across the organization. Reporting to the Business Unit CFO, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence outcomes at the intersection of data analytics, strategy, and financial performance optimization.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or strategy roles within direct-to-consumer (D2C) or tech-enabled companies. We’re looking for someone with a strong passion for turning data into compelling narratives and a demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through cross-functional collaboration.

What will you do?
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team focused on delivering insights that inform strategy, support growth, and drive operational excellence.
  • Advanced Analytics and Insights: Oversee in-depth analytical initiatives to uncover actionable insights on marketplace dynamics, user behavior, and conversion levers, enabling smarter and more informed decision-making.
  • Business Strategy: Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to shape, validate, and operationalize the company’s strategic roadmap, quantifying and accelerating impact on growth, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Performance Monitoring and Data Strategy Development: Work closely with Data Science, Product, Marketing, and Operations leaders to design KPI frameworks, performance dashboards, and influence our business intelligence roadmap aligned with enterprise priorities.
  • Executive Collaboration & Influence: Act as a strategic thought partner to senior stakeholders by transforming complex data into clear, compelling recommendations that drive high-impact decisions.
What will you NOT do?
  • You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
  • You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.

Can I work remotely?

Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships. Travel expenses are covered and reasonable accommodations are made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.

Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years in strategy, analytics, business intelligence, or insights roles, preferably within D2C or fast-paced, high-growth tech environments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Technical skills: Expert SQL skills and proficiency in at least one additional language (e.g., Python, R); experience with one or more BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau); advanced Excel or Google Sheets capabilities; strong presentation skills in PowerPoint or Google Slides
  • Big Data Fluency: Comfortable working with large, complex datasets and leveraging big data technologies or platforms to deliver insights at scale.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to link analytics to business outcomes, influence company performance, and support strategic decisions with data.
  • Communication: Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior and cross-functional audiences.
  • Bias for Action: Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong prioritization skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and execution.

The base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $280,000. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and the extensive benefits listed here (subject to eligibility requirements): Teladoc Health Benefits 2025. Total compensation is based on several factors – including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
