General summary:

The Director, Business Relationship Management (IT BRM) serves as the critical liaison between Ovation's Tech Services and the client and business units, driving alignment between technology initiatives and organizational goals. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding business priorities, and ensuring Tech Services delivers value through effective service management, project execution, and strategic collaboration.

The Director leads a team of Business Relationship Managers and collaborates closely with IT leadership, project managers, and business leaders to identify opportunities for innovation, optimize IT investments, and enhance overall business performance through technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with business leaders and stakeholders to understand their needs, priorities, and challenges.

  • Lead a team of Business Relationship Managers to ensure consistent, high-quality engagement and service delivery across business units.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between IT and business teams to align IT strategies with business objectives.

  • Drive IT demand management by prioritizing initiatives, managing project pipelines, and optimizing resource allocation.

  • Monitor and report on the performance and value of IT services from the business perspective.

  • Advocate for business needs within IT, ensuring solutions meet requirements and deliver measurable benefits.

  • Collaborate with portfolio and project managers to support successful project delivery and benefits realization.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and digital transformation aligned with business goals.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts or issues related to IT service delivery.

  • Support change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of IT solutions within business units.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Business Relationship Management.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams focused on stakeholder engagement and service delivery.

  • Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and project management principles.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to translate business needs into IT requirements and vice versa.

  • Experience with portfolio management, demand management, and strategic planning.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connection is required for all remote/hybrid positions. 

  • Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities. 

  • A HIPAA-compliant work environment is required, including a secure workspace free from unauthorized access or interruptions, no use of public Wi-Fi unless connected through a secure company-provided VPN, and compliance with all applicable HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
