Who is Boulevard?

Boulevard provides the first and only client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses. We empower our customers to give their clients more of the magical moments that matter most.

Before launching in 2016, our founders spent months interviewing salon managers and working behind front desks to understand their pain points so we could design a modern, user-friendly platform that meets the unique needs of their business. Our roots may be in hair salons, but we are built for the broader self-care industry, including many types of salons, spas, medspa, barbershops, and more. Our technology not only helps our customers survive but thrive. Take a look at how we (and YOU) can make that happen.

We have an insatiable curiosity and embrace experimentation. We believe that simple solutions require the most sophistication, and we design each and every detail to maximize potential, power, and impact. Do our values match? Read through our story and what we value the most.

Our team values and celebrates our diverse backgrounds. Being open about who we are and what we do allows us to do the best work of our lives. We believe in equal opportunity for all, and you should too.

Come do the best work of your life at Boulevard.

Join us in shaping the internal systems that power Boulevard’s next stage of growth. We're hiring a Director of Business Systems to lead the vision, implementation, and evolution of the internal systems that power Boulevard’s go-to-market and operational capabilities. You’ll guide strategy and delivery for our Salesforce platform, SaaS subscription management (including billing and invoicing), and the foundational tooling required to bring more self-service workflows directly into the product.

Reporting to the CTO, you’ll be a key leader at the intersection of product, engineering, and business operations, responsible for driving system design and process automation that enable scale, efficiency, and exceptional customer experience. Your work will establish the internal systems architecture that supports Boulevard’s revenue operations and lays the groundwork for a more flexible, product-led service model.

You'll lead a high-impact, collaborative, and forward-thinking team of engineers and administrators, with a mandate to continuously evolve our internal tools to meet the needs of a growing business and customer base. This is a key leadership role where you’ll architect critical systems that will directly impact Boulevard’s scalability and long-term success.

Domains of Ownership
  • Business Systems Architecture – Own, design, and evolve the end-to-end architecture and implementation of internal platforms including Salesforce, Salesforce Revenue Cloud, and related SaaS tools.
  • Revenue Operations Infrastructure – Drive the technical foundation for CRM, CPQ, billing, invoicing, and payment integrations to support scalable GTM operations.
  • Marketing Systems & Attribution – Partner with Marketing to implement and maintain systems that support campaign tracking, lead lifecycle management, and multi-touch attribution.
  • Product-Led Self-Service Enablement – Collaborate with Product and Engineering to introduce internal tooling and APIs that power customer self-service workflows (e.g., subscription updates, invoicing access).
  • Workflow Automation – Design and implement process automation across Sales, Marketing, Support, Finance, and Customer Success.
  • System Integration & Data Flow – Ensure seamless, secure, real-time data flow between internal systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, NetSuite, Zendesk) and product environments.
  • Governance & Scalability – Establish best practices around data quality, access control, system integrity, and compliance to ensure operational excellence as we scale.

Key Projects & Initiatives

  • Salesforce Upkeep and Evolution – Lead the continued optimization and operations of our Salesforce instance to support scalable workflows across Sales, CS, Marketing, and Support.
  • Subscription Billing Platform – Own the integration and technical execution of our billing and invoicing stack (Salesforce Revenue Cloud), ensuring accurate and flexible subscription management.
  • Marketing Attribution Stack – Implement tools and integrations that enable robust multi-touch attribution, campaign tracking, and pipeline visibility.
  • Self-Service Infrastructure – Partner with Product Engineering to expose key account and billing capabilities via secure APIs, enabling in-product customer self-service.
  • System Health & Reliability – Deploy observability, alerting, and error handling for mission-critical systems to ensure consistent performance and uptime.
  • Compliance & Access Controls – Implement scalable governance frameworks for system access, data privacy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOC 2, PCI).
  • Team Growth & Leadership – Hire, mentor, and grow a collaborative, high-impact team of business systems engineers, administrators, and integration partners.

What you’ll do here:

  • Technical Leadership – Define and execute the long-term strategy for Boulevard’s internal business systems, with a focus on scalability, extensibility, and cross-system consistency.
  • Team Building – Lead and develop a high-performing team of business systems engineers and administrators. Cultivate a culture of ownership, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Customer Success teams to understand business needs and deliver systems that drive internal efficiency and customer experience.
  • Systems Architecture & Design – Architect robust, flexible solutions across platforms like Salesforce, Stripe, HubSpot, NetSuite, and beyond. Guide build vs. buy decisions and vendor evaluations.
  • Operational Excellence – Establish best-in-class practices for system uptime, monitoring, change management, documentation, and access controls across critical platforms.
  • Workflow Automation & Data Integrity – Build and maintain automation frameworks and integrations that ensure seamless data flow and reliable processes.
  • Self-Service Platform Enablement – Lay the technical foundation for exposing internal functionality—like subscription management and invoicing—as secure, product-facing APIs.
  • Strategic Planning – Partner with executive leadership to define a systems roadmap that aligns with company priorities and enables Boulevard to scale faster and more intelligently.
What you’ll need to thrive:
  • 10+ years of experience working with Salesforce and other business systems (e.g., CPQ, billing, marketing automation) with a strong technical foundation in systems architecture and integration.
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including managing senior engineers, administrators, or systems teams in high-growth environments.
  • Proven success leading complex platform implementations (e.g., Salesforce overhauls, billing migrations, marketing attribution rollouts) across departments.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support revenue operations, subscription billing, and marketing data strategy.
  • Deep understanding of multi-touch attribution, campaign tracking, and full-funnel marketing-to-sales data flow.
  • Hands-on experience integrating SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Intercom, Marketo, or others using modern APIs and tooling.
  • Familiarity with governance and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and experience implementing security best practices across business tools.
  • A systems thinker who can balance business goals with technical scalability.
How we'll take care of you:

Your total budgeted cash compensation for this role is between $218,000 and $312,000 USD, depending on your current skills, experience, training, and overall market demands. This range is subject to change, and there is always room for growth and advancement.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
