Position Summary:
The Director, Client Development for Coding Operations, serves as the developer of new business for our current coding clients and prospects. The Director also provides consultative support and education to the sales team. They are responsible for developing strong relationships with clients; providing industry knowledge during the sales process, discovery, proposal preparation; and ensuring a smooth transition from the inception of the project. Demonstrate IKS Health’s commitment to excellence in serving the client by nurturing client relationships, help mitigate risk while driving client satisfaction. The Director, Client Development for Coding Operations, works closely with the sales team, coding  operations leadership, coding quality leadership, and other business units, as needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Provide HIM knowledge in a consultative manner to assist sales in the details of a coding and audit sale.

Perform detailed discovery to identify the needs of the client.

Create customized proposals that can be realistically implemented and executed by the operations and quality teams. Identify sales targets and work with the sales team to close deals.

Understand tools, success stories, outcomes, and products that will assist our clients and have the ability to communicate with clients at all levels. Provide presentations to clients, as needed. Perform Coding Operational Assessment, as needed, to provide a lead-in for sales opportunities.

Create high level and detailed written reports and effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and next steps at all leadership levels.

Work with discovery information to assess volume/workload for client sites. 

Work with the Operations team to provide seamless coverage and the correct skill set, based on the initial and ongoing needs of the client. Provide smooth transition of client relationship and project implementation to operations and quality team via Kick-Off Call.

Ensure the client feels supported during the transition.

Ensure initial client engagement with Coding Operations establishes a strong, positive relationship
and that implementation exceeds client expectations.

Build and maintain relationships with assigned clients to foster loyalty, support ongoing service, and drive growth. Advocate for client needs, requests, and feedback with the Coding Operations team, and collaborate in a positive, professional manner to support continuous improvement across the organization.


Travel
Fifty percent plus travel time, including regional and/or national trips as needed to support client meetings, site visits, and overall business objectives.


Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field with additional HIM or coding certification preferred or Associate
Degree in HIM. RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or other coding credentials

Minimum 10 years’ experience in HIM management/leadership, including experience in HIM field with a concentration on coding and management.

Preferred experience in HIM/Revenue Cycle consulting.

Knowledge of the coding area within an HIM department; workflow within the coding area; coding metrics; hospital revenue cycle.

Strong strategic planning and project management skills.

Strong working knowledge of HIM systems with diverse experience on multiple EMRs.

Impeccable oral and written communications skills that demonstrate active listening, usage of open-ended questions and effective collaboration.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Strong collaborator and initiative-taker. Passion for helping others and collaborating with a team.

Compensation and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is  $150,000-$175,000. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to current market conditions, location, education, work experience, certifications, etc. IKS Health offers a competitive benefits package, including healthcare, 401k, and paid time off (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements for full-time employees).
