We’re committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone’s empowered to be their best.

The Director of Commercial Technology leads the Commercial Technology Practice for the Electrical Group. This is a senior, business-led role responsible for defining, governing, and delivering the commercial technology vision across the Electrical Group’s business Platforms.

At Marmon Electrical, we power a bright future for millions of people around the world. From homes to industries that shape lives, we deliver solutions that keep people connected and energized—and it all starts with you. We’re doing things that matter. Our electrical engineering solutions impact millions worldwide through safe and dependable energy supply. We deliver electrical solutions from the ocean depths to outer space. As part of Marmon, you’re helping keep millions worldwide healthy, connected and safe.

The Commercial Technology Practice is a federated, Electrical Group–level team comprised of dedicated resources and embedded contributors from each Platform. The Practice operates as a hands-on partner to the platforms, providing expertise, execution capacity, coordination, and shared accountability for outcomes.

This role serves as the primary business product owner for the commercial technology ecosystem, including customer relationship management, configure–price–quote, marketing automation, customer portals, and related commercial data and analytics capabilities. The Director ensures solutions are aligned to business strategy, drive adoption, and deliver measurable commercial value.

This is not an Information Technology delivery role. It is a commercial leadership role focused on strategy, business processes, outcomes, and adoption, working in close partnership with Information Technology.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the Commercial Technology Practice for the Electrical Group as a federated, enterprise-level team made up of dedicated resources and embedded contributors from each business platform.
  • Define and own the commercial technology vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with Electrical Group growth objectives and platform priorities.
  • Serve as the business product owner for the commercial technology ecosystem, including customer relationship management, configure–price–quote, marketing automation, customer portals, and commercial data and analytics.
  • Own and maintain the Electrical Group commercial technology roadmap, program-managing the end-to-end transformation across multiple platforms, timelines, and interdependencies.
  • Scope and oversee initiatives on the roadmap, assembling and coordinating internal and external resources while maintaining accountability for delivery.
  • Partner closely with business platforms to define requirements and functionality that meet business needs and drive strong user adoption.
  • Translate business needs into standards by working one-to-one with Information Technology counterparts and platform owners.
  • Lead vendor selection efforts, including development of requests for proposals, evaluation models, and recommendations for technology and integration partners.
  • Own the business-side commercial data strategy, including customer and master data definitions, governance, data quality, cleanup, and integration.
  • Define clear business outcomes and success metrics, including understanding and tracking return on investment for commercial technology investments.
  • Enable analytics and performance management, partnering with business leaders to define key performance indicators and decision-support capabilities.
  • Own change management and communication strategies, driving adoption across all platforms and user groups through active engagement and clear messaging.
  • Ensure solutions are business-supportable, scalable, and upgrade-ready, with long-term sustainability built into design and execution.
  • Act as a trusted partner to platform presidents and commercial leaders, providing expertise, execution capacity, coordination, and hands-on delivery support.

Who You Are

  • A commercial leader with deep experience in commercial technology, revenue operations, or enterprise business systems within a large, multi-platform organization.
  • A business-first technology leader who focuses on outcomes, adoption, and value realization rather than system delivery alone.
  • An expert in commercial processes, including sales, marketing, pricing, quoting, and customer engagement models.
  • Experienced in leading enterprise- or group-level programs that span multiple business units, platforms, and external partners.
  • Skilled in business architecture and process design, with the ability to harmonize where it creates value while respecting platform-specific needs.
  • Comfortable operating in a federated model, coordinating shared ownership and decision-making across diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong in stakeholder management and influence, with the executive presence to align platform presidents, sales leaders, and operations leaders.
  • Experienced in vendor selection and partner management, including integrators and commercial technology providers.
  • Knowledgeable in commercial data governance, master data strategy, and analytics enablement.
  • A clear and effective communicator and change leader, capable of driving adoption across people, processes, and platforms.
  • Results-oriented, with a track record of owning business outcomes and return on investment for technology-enabled initiatives.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
