The Role: 

Carrot is looking for a strategic and results-driven marketing leader to oversee our demand generation, content, and digital engagement strategies. As Director of Content and Demand Marketing, you’ll play a key role in driving brand awareness, attracting new customers, and nurturing existing relationships through a multi-channel approach. You’ll lead a team responsible for demand generation campaigns, SEO, content strategy, and social media, ensuring our digital efforts align with business objectives and accelerate growth. Additionally, you’ll work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and other Carrot teams to drive impact.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of specialists across SEO, demand generation, content marketing, and social media, providing strategic direction and mentorship
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and customer acquisition
  • Manage the content marketing strategy, ensuring the creation of high-quality, compelling content that educates and converts our target audiences
  • Manage and author multiple types of content assets (whitepapers, blog posts, social media posts, etc.) for multiple audiences
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other marketing leaders, sales, and customer success to align digital marketing efforts with business objectives
  • Align marketing efforts with sales, customer success, and other cross-functional teams to maximize impact
  • Balance long-term strategic plans with ad hoc requests to support the day-to-day business needs
  • Bring a forward-thinking, test-and-learn mindset, proactively experimenting with new tactics, channels, and messaging to drive growth and continuously improve performance
  • Oversee inbound and outbound demand generation programs, ensuring they generate high-quality leads and support revenue goals
  • Optimize digital campaigns across paid and organic channels, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance performance
  • Support the Content Marketing Manager as they write and produce relevant, dynamic, best-in-class content for Carrot’s website, editorial platforms, events, and other assets
  • Mentor the Sr. SEO Manager on initiatives to improve digital authority, drive organic traffic, and enhance discoverability
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance for email marketing and lead nurture programs, ensuring high performance and conversion throughout the funnel
  • Lead and support the development of engaging digital experiences—including webinars and virtual events—by setting direction and enabling executional excellence
  • Review performance data and insights regularly to make informed, data-driven optimizations
  • Manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and secure leadership buy-in for innovative digital initiatives

The Team: 

This role sits on our Marketing team, reporting to our VP of Marketing. The Marketing team consists of experts across Events, Design, Product Marketing, PR/Communications, and Digital Marketing. Carrot’s Marketing team is responsible for sharing the Carrot story with the world. 


Minimum qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing with a strong track record of driving measurable business impact
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams
  • Deep understanding of multi-channel digital strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting, analysis, and funnel optimization
  • Expertise in marketing automation, CRM platforms, and performance marketing tools
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare and/or workplace benefits
  • Global audience background
  • Hands-on experience with paid media strategy, including PPC, display, and paid social campaigns
  • Background in B2B marketing, particularly in SaaS or healthcare industries
  • Experience running A/B tests and optimizing digital campaigns for maximum efficiency

Compensation: 

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $160,000- $170,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
