About The Position | Major Goals and Objectives and Location Requirements:

D/Cipher is seeking a strategic storyteller and marketing communications leader who can transform complex AdTech and digital media concepts into compelling narratives that drive awareness, credibility, and business growth.

This role sits at the intersection of marketing, sales, content, communications, and brand, helping shape how D/Cipher is represented across materials and touchpoints. 

The ideal candidate has deep experience in the AdTech or digital advertising ecosystem, combined with expertise in written communication and copywriting, and strategic thinking with precise hands-on execution. They thrive in fast-paced environments where market and client needs change rapidly. This role reports to the SVP, Marketing & Communications, D/Cipher.

Success in the role includes:

  • Helping establish a differentiated and credible market presence that strengthens D/Cipher's reputation and visibility.

  • Increased recognition of company executives as respected industry voices.

  • Consistent, high-quality messaging across all channels and stakeholder touchpoints.

  • Strong collaboration among marketing, sales, product, and People Inc. communications teams that drives measurable business outcomes.

Hybrid 3x a week (New York) 

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
 

About The D/Cipher Team:

D/Cipher is People Inc.’s in-house media intelligence platform and activation team, fueled by the rich user engagement data from the nation’s largest publisher.  D/Cipher allows advertisers to reach active intenders, regardless of demographic profile—both on People Inc. 's owned-and-operated (O&O) sites and across a highly vetted collection of premium sites. The D/Cipher Team is focused on the expansion and execution of D/Cipher off-property.

The Marketing Team supports needs for D/Cipher, including but not limited to: Branding, Market Positioning and Strategy, GPs,  Sales and Product Materials, Thought Leadership, while working directly with the People Inc. Communications Team on anything specific to PR (Awards, Press), Sponsorships, Events, Collateral, Team Events, Paid Media Opportunities, Promotion as well as Research Tools and Insights. 

About the Position’s Contributions: Weight % Accountabilities, Actions, and Expected Measurable Results

60% Marketing Content & Thought Leadership Strategy

  • In close collaboration with People Inc. Communications Team, develop and execute an integrated content and thought-leadership strategy designed to strengthen D/Cipher's market position and authority.

  • Translate complex products, technologies, and industry trends into clear, persuasive narratives for customers, partners, and industry audiences.

  • Write high-impact content and thought leadership pieces, including industry narratives, sales stories, award submissions, outreach, newsletters, blogs, and other client messaging.

 

40% Industry & Client Visibility 

  • Lead initiatives across paid, earned, and owned channels to maximize reach, engagement, and business impact.

  • Lead social media strategy and sponsorships to expand market visibility and product awareness, working in close collaboration with People Inc. Communications Team.

  • Identify and secure opportunities to increase brand awareness through industry events, publications, partnerships, and awards programs; liaise with People Inc. Communications Team to surface the right opportunities to elevate D/Cipher's executive leadership in the industry (e.g., POVs, bylines, speaking engagements).

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience).

Experience: 10+ years of marketing experience, including at least 5 years within AdTech, digital media, advertising, marketing technology, or related industries.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade diverse audiences.

  • Deep understanding of the AdTech, digital advertising, and media landscape.

  • Proven experience in content strategy and thought leadership.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect communications initiatives to business objectives and growth outcomes.

  • Highly adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable operating in dynamic, evolving environments.

  • Demonstrated ownership mentality with a bias for action and execution.

  • Experience executing multi-channel campaigns across paid, earned, and owned media.

  • Strong analytical mindset with an understanding of performance measurement, attribution, and business impact.

  • Proven ability to simplify complex technical concepts and translate them into compelling market-facing narratives.

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 Remote: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
