What You'll Do:

As the Director of Endpoint Engineering, you will be the owner responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating roadmap execution and operations of Blackpoint’s agent solution. You will drive the vision & execution for evolving the Blackpoint endpoint agent, including collaborating with multiple engineering teams, and work cross-functionally with leaders across the company who use the agent. You will be responsible for understanding the needs of customers and possibilities with the agent, setting a clear strategy, ensuring the teams deliver their projects with quality and on time, and hiring and developing a high-performing team.

You will be a highly visible leader who partners across the Product team. You will partner with our product leaders to deliver innovative solutions for the agent in conjunction with our cloud-based platform. Customer focus is key; you will drive our commitment to quality and operational excellence. This role demands a deep engineering background with hands-on experience in building and scaling robust and secure endpoint agents. You excel in leading teams to deliver high-quality products and will provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to build a high-functioning team.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the Endpoint Agent solution roadmap that is aligned with product and business objectives.

  • Define the long-term vision of the endpoint agent. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in endpoint agent solutions.

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in designing and building robust, high-performance endpoint agents. Actively participate in code review, debugging, and optimizing core components to meet rigorous security and performance standards.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of engineers. Foster technical excellence within the team, promoting best practices in software development, security, and system design.

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle of endpoint agents and cloud-based agent management, from architecture and design through development, testing, and deployment. Ensure the smooth on-time delivery of secure, scalable, and reliable endpoint solutions.

  • Work closely with product management, QA, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of endpoint agents with other security solutions and platforms. Drive collaboration to resolve technical challenges and deliver high-quality products.

  • Engage directly with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback, understand their needs, and translate these insights into actionable product improvements. Lead technical discussions during customer escalations and incidents.

  • Implement and oversee processes for managing and maintaining endpoint agents, including regular updates, patches, and support. Establish robust monitoring, alerting, and reporting mechanisms to track KPIs related to performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. Encourage proactive problem-solving and the adoption of new technologies to enhance product quality.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with 5+ years of people management experience, demonstrating success in building, growing, and managing multiple teams.

  • Deep technical and strategic understanding of endpoint agent products.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with endpoint agent solutions. EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), and related technologies is a plus.

  • Technically competent with previous proven experience building endpoint agent products.

  • Proven ability to influence and deliver high-impact initiatives. Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to define and drive the team’s mission, vision, and long-term strategies.

  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing teams and collaborating effectively across departments. Strong writing and communication skills with a keen business intuition and adaptability to new technologies.

  • A passion for quality and a “Get Stuff Done” attitude, balanced with a sense of responsibility to customers and the team.

  • B.S. or M.S. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
