About the Role:

Remitly is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Enterprise Risk Management Program, driving the development and scaling of our risk and governance structure. As the Director of Enterprise Risk Management, you will lead the team to develop risk identification frameworks and measurement tools, as well as the deployment of risk management practices across the organization. You will play a critical role in initiating and managing the annual enterprise-wide risk assessment process, ensuring alignment with Remitly's mission, vision, and strategic goals. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, this is a hybrid role based in Seattle, WA.

You Will:

  • Lead the Enterprise Risk Management Program, guiding a team to develop risk identification and measurement tools and deploy risk management practices effectively.
  • Develop and deploy enterprise-wide risk and control assessment processes, providing insights that facilitates key decisions such as risk-based resource prioritizations.
  • Inform business leaders and their teams about the risks associated with various initiatives, such as product launches and expansion into new jurisdictions.
  • Facilitate sovereign/country risk assessments to provide context and inputs into other programs such as third party risk management.
  • Develop and deploy the third party risk management program to provide visibility into exposures associated with third party relationships,
  • Manage and organize the enterprise risk infrastructure including framework components, common taxonomies, and enabling capabilities..
  • Develop executive dashboards with providing hindsight, insight, and foresight perspectives for leadership, executive committees, and Board-level committees.
  • Oversee the implementation and execution of a controls framework and partner with first line teams to monitor control effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain policy and procedural documents related to enterprise risk management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Develop training materials to educate employees on enterprise risk management principles and practices, fostering a culture of risk awareness and optimization of exposures.

You Have:

  • Proven experience in enterprise risk management, with a track record of developing and scaling risk programs in complex organizations.
  • Leadership ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • The ability to effectively convey complex risk concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to interpret data and trends to inform risk decision-making.
  • Experience in the FinTech industry or rapid-growth companies.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $176,000-$220,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
